It was my first time a Carlussio’s. The place is nice and friendly but the food was quite far from the italian i’m used to(I lived in Italy over 6 months). It’s good but It’s just lacking authenticity in my opinion. It’s more like a european Italian fusion nstead of proper Italian food. I had calamari to start with and fish soup for main. I enjoyed it but I’ve had better… much better.

This is a special Carluccio’s in my opinion. It is far more useful as a lovely after-dinner spot for my wife and me. I think their coffee is spectacular, especially the Bicerin Florentin drinking chocolate, Cream, and Espresso served in three little cups that you mix together yourself and drink. Yum! And the prices are great too. One thing I like about this Carluccios is that in winter there really aren’t many seats close to the outside door, so you can enjoy the evening in toasty warmth.

not a bad place to grab a sandwich or pizzette while walking up to the heath. i wish there was a bigger selection of sandwiches as most of the food is heavier for dinner.

I was in the mood to enjoy myself at a nicer restaurant in a posh neighborhood and I’ve gotten some yummy fancy takeaway here before. Maybe just some pasta and wine for myself thank you very much. They have one side thats the restaurant, and one door you can go through to buy things for your pantry or just order some cold salads or warm panini things to go. My dinner was tasty. Handmade Tortelloni stuffed with venison in a buttery sauce. Large glass of fancy shmancy wine on their specials wall. The price was comparable to the quality. There’s one star missing because I didn’t enjoy the customer service. Ok so yes it’s in a neighborhood where there are people who don’t actually care about what things cost BUT I was bombarded by extra things that I didn’t actually need and if I had a second to think about the choices I would have not ordered some things. She very nicely but quickly asked if I would like something to drink and I said water’s fine so she gives me a $ 3 bottle of fancy still water. Some places offer complimentary little bits like bread or olives to nosh on before you order, she asked if I would like some and she brought both and turns out that it was about $ 7 worth of nibbles that I would not have paid for had i known. So due to my timidness and flustering under pressure I paid 10 pounds more than I would have liked to. But otherwise it was tasty, and I’m prepared for next time.

The Hampstead branch of the Carluccio’s chain is much like the rest: a relaxed restaurant that seems popular with well-heeled families(unsurprising in this part of town), and a deli with lots of Italian meats, cheeses, breads, and takeaway food. The layout here is good, since you can decide which side you want — restaurant or deli — right at the door, and turn left or right respectively. They also have some seats outside on the broad pavement. It’s a very busy pedestrian area, and great for people-watching.

This is an extremely healthy option perfect for summer when one is not too hungry. They do delicious salad dishes for starters with freshly prepared sauces. The main courses range from risotto to pizza so everyone will be pleased. The nice thing about this place is that you can pick up some cheeses and sauces to take home at a reasonable price. The branch in hampstead is often visited by families as it is 5 mins walk from the tube station. There is a good selection of wines for the evening.

The Hampstead branch of Carluccio’s is great for those evenings when you just can’t be bothered to cook. The food is reliable and fairly priced. It’s standard Italian fare prepared well. Nothing swims in oil and the menu is modern. The wine list is accessible and the attached gourmet food store is perfect for picking up some fancy Italian cheeses or the packet of Type 00 flour you’ve been searching for. In the summer there are plenty of tables outside. You can often just turn up without a reservation.
