I feel a 3 is generous for this busy central London eatery. It looked good — a queue around the corner of hungry workers linking up for their midday nosh. I was one of them. Didn’t take too long to get processed but it was a chicken factory — hurry up and give your order and don’t dare stop to think about it. Plus the shouty guy barking out completed orders. I hate that, plus the smart arse comments under his breath were not welcomed even if the customer was taking more than their allotted 3 seconds to collect their order. I had a beef burrito — it was boring and I had to wait a little longer than the rest and listen to the shouty guy more than I wanted. I mean the food wasn’t bad it just wasn’t great.

Have not tried other dishes but for a first experience, I was very disappointed in the aubergine salad I got. More sick sauce than salad, I feel weird in the stomach now… How can you call that a salad. Also i thought It would be a minimum filling with the peas… There were like 5 in the whole thing. So frustrated with my lunch sadly. I recommend you try the grilled meat dishes. Apparently these are the one worth it in this place.

We eat here at least 2 – 3 times a week. The food is amazing and the price is right. Friendly service, fast, and delicious. Don’t miss out on any fish they have to offer for the day or the Halloumi cheese. Oh, and the fries. Love you Carbon!

Kafta wrap was OK but a bit smaller considering the price. Chips were good but again pricey for the quantity given.

I walked past here en route to another lunch place, and made note that it(a) had a long line out the door(always a good sign) and(b) smelled delicious. Wraps and boxes made up of meat + stuff(potatoes and the likes for the boxes, salad etc for wraps) straight from their charcoal grill. What’s not to like? Well, certainly food wise there was a lot to like. I had an extremely tasty chicken wrap; so tasty in fact that I wanted more. But I feel that I shouldn’t have been wanting more for the price that I paid; over £6 for a wrap. It didn’t seem filled too much with their tasty meat and sauce, and I really wish it had been, because it was really tasty! If you’re not overly hungry but do want nice flavours, you could do worse I am sure. Maybe even shell out for the boxes, they seem better value but ramp up towards £10 for the specials. I will go back, but I will hope for a little more for my money.

Carbon is a grill/bbq place close to Picadilly Circus which opened a couple of months ago. A couple of my colleagues found it on their way to Wholefoods. Me, being one for some meat, decided that this is my type of joint and went down their for some lunch. Attempt 1: I went for the Argentinian Grill — which was also the most expensive grill available. I did a takeaway and left fairly satisfied with what I got(by the looks of it) in spite of waiting a bit longer than everyone for the grill. On opening up and eating the beef I found it to be quite undercooked and impossibly chewy. Wonder if that was by design… I scored this place really poorly. Lazy as I am, I didn’t review the place right after that first visit. And boy am I glad I did! Attempt 2: I went with a couple of mates from work this time round and was looking to eat in. They had grilled squid as the special for the day. When we were dilly-dallying on whether to have the squid she said«Try the squid. If you don’t like it we’ll give you anything else that you want free» — Well — that sort of tipped the balance in the squid’s favour. We tried that and the Lebanese grill. They were both really good. I wonder if they have that squid regularly…

Great little charcoal grill in southern Soho that serves grilled meat, salads and wraps. Simple but very tasty.
