Specialties
Relaxed, welcoming and elegant. Caraffini, a stone’s throw away from Sloane Square in fashionable Chelsea, and serving fine traditional Italian food with modern overtones, is a long-time local favourite with an international reputation and impressive following.
A list of five or six special dishes are always on offer and invariably these include a fresh fish such as swordfish or halibut prepared and presented undisguised and unfussily. Taglierini with fresh Lobster is frequently a feature due to popular demand and our chefs constantly produce imaginative dishes that are unusual and tantalising and include such delicacies as wild boar carpaccio, roast partridge, rabbit, fresh prawns and pasta dishes in unexpected combinations.
History
Established in 1994.
Now in its twenty-first year, Caraffini’s success owes much to the skill, enthusiasm and personality of Paolo, its eponymous padrone, who has created a talented professional team — led by Francisco — to provide excellent Italian food and wine with friendly service to match in a smart but informal and warming ambience.
Invariably buzzing with its impressive and interesting clientele, Caraffini’s popularity make it imperative that you book your table a few days ahead. As well as a generous welcome, excellent service, good food and fine wine, all at a very competitive price, Francisco and his team will also provide a memorably happy and relaxed experience.
Meet the Manager
Francisco P.
Manager
Francisco has lived in this country from childhood when his parents migrated here from Spain. He worked as a waiter in several restaurants and joined Caraffini on day 1 where he soon became No.1.
He has continued in this position assuming more and more responsibility for the smooth running of the restaurant staff.
A «natural» with the customers, his popularity just grows and grows.
