Yummy home made cakes. Today thoroughly enjoyed a huge slice of red velvet cake with proper cream cheese frosting and and a smooth creamy spicy chai latte. Only had hot drinks and cakes in here so far on visits but the food smells and looks good. Will check out gallery one day. Cocktails too with happy hour and evening menu will be attended in the future too I’m sure :) Lovely atmosphere and love the décor. In particular a wooden arch inlaid with glass trays — fab idea.

Lovely little spot, just a stones throw from Forest Hill station. Great coffee and wine by the glass. I have only ever eaten here once and the food was high class café style. Would highly recommend the brunch and at about £10 a head you will walk away content. I also believe they source a lot of there ingredients from local traders. Well worth a rest pre/post sainsburys for a moment of piece!

Lovely place with the most interesting interior design I’ve ever seen. The place is unique and it’s a small adventure to have breakfast there. Coffee is good and all the cakes are fresh and delicious.

Canvas and Cream is a lovely café with a great ambiance mismatched crockery and vintage décor, even on a weekday morning it was bustling. We had bubble and squeak and mushrooms on farmhouse bread, delish! I asked for an extra poached egg on my farmhouse toast, and they were more than happy to oblige. I recently visited Canvas and Cream with my partner. Having been curious for a few months as to what was happening behind the painted out windows. I was very pleasantly surprised by the use of the large interior space. The large floor space is fitted out with at least 15 different tables each unique in character. The walls have unique works of art on them and there is a gallery space to the rear. Now on to the food. The menu was very varied. With starters from £ 5 to mains at £ 10 to £ 13. I went for the Daube of Beef with Horseradish Mash. The beef was beautifully cooked and literally fell apart. It was mouthwatering and the mash was not too strong. Horseradish can go horribly wrong. But here it was perfect! My partner had Cod Cheek Scampi. Which was full of fishy flavor as it should be. The triple cooked chips were wonderfully crispy too! The wine list was quite varied with a good selection of reds and whites. With a rather lovely house! The staff were enthusiastic and very friendly and as the restaurant had only been open a week, It was pretty efficient too. If you are looking for something just a little bit different with an interesting interior and lots of space. With Tasty home cooked dishes. Then Canvas and Cream is the place to go. 2 mins walk from Forest Hill Overground too! I popped back the next day for hot chocolate and cakes. Yumm!
