Pros: Great selection of beers and great initial service when we arrived for a booked table at 6:30pm. Cons: 1. Food was very average — had the beer can chicken with jerk spice but tasted very plain. The meat platter was quite small. 2. Service was non-existent from 10pm onwards

This is my favorite pub in Islington /Angel area and one of my favorite anywhere. They have about 8 – 10 beers and ciders brewed on site, along with a lot more on draught/tap and in bottles. Staff is friendly and there is plenty of room. Many of the tables along the wall have power outlets in case you are on the road — this is a big plus also. The atmosphere varies with the number of people as you expect — lively when full, and pleasantly quiet when not. Food is excellent. They have a range of typical pub fare along with salads and other mains. I like their Beer Can Chicken and the burgers. You can reserve a table if you call ahead for a specific time also. They have small tables for two, large tables for groups and plenty of room to stand as well. Their IPAs and ales are my favorites!

Nice comfortable pub style restaurant around the corner from Angel. Food is really good, service is very attentive and great brews and wines! Love hanging out here any day of the week. The staff here works hard and seem really engaged. You don’t see that everywhere. If you are in Islington give it a try. Very close to O2 and the cinema.

A very sleek, modern, commercially minded brewpub. It’s trendy. That said, the beers are quite decent, and there are usually five or six available on cask. The staff are generally pretty efficient and friendly. Average prices. This is a fairly upbeat place that attracts a lot of folks who seem to like the idea of a brewpub but who also like a place to be stylish and clean. The location is very convenient(two minutes from Angel tube station), so I would recommend stopping by.

Great pub, great burgers, great brews! Being a microbrewery they’ve got quite a good list of beers, some brewed by themselves, some from other(international and local) breweries. I liked the home brewed IPA’s name Spandau B and Chaplin a lot. The food is good and the food menu is quite extensive for a pub, with many types of burgers. I had the classic and I loved it, great meat. It’s a big place with different types of seating, we sat and stood around big high tables with a large group which was good for this group size. This is a good place for a group. They organize beer experiences, tastings and master classes.

Burgers and brews are quite possibly my favorite combination evar. We started with the scotch egg. Scotch egg = hard-boiled egg wrapped in sausage meat, coated in bread crumbs and is then either baked or deep-fried. Split The Ridiculous with my friend(two 100% Aberdeen Angus beef patties, BBQ pulled pork, smoked bacon, double cheese, B&K relish, tomato lettuce and red onions omgggg. Had some serious food coma afterwards.

Ahhh we had such problems with being understood by the staff here that it became a bit of a nightmare. We’re all native English speakers so it’s not like our English is bad. Rather, their English was bad. Very bad. And it really effected the service to the point where we ended up with 8 portions of fries that we had apparently ordered because it was on the cheque. They just kept bringing them out because the girl at the till didn’t understand that we wanted cheese on our fries that came with the burger, not an extra portion of cheesy fries as well as burger and fries. So when we tried to tell the waitress she didn’t understand the problem properly because her English wasn’t good either. So basically we just had to keep returning fries to the kitchen again, and again until the kitchen staff went crazy, and the manager came out. In the end it was resolved and we got our money back for all the extra fries but still it was a bit ridiculous. The wait time at the bar was really long, even though there was barely anyone in the pub, which was annoying. I’m not sure whether the staff were new/being trained. The food was okay, typical pub grub. Good portions I would say. Good menu too. I really like the décor and style of the pub… rustic barn brewery type of thing. Would probably try this place again and hope that the service is better!

There are few, if any, pubs whose décor beats that of Brewhouse and Kitchen. The entire interior is brand new and shabby chic. I loved the black piano painted with lyrics of a song. I loved the mismatched tables and chairs. I loved the variety of people in the pub. I ordered the Lagunitas and it was OK. Had we not had a timeline to keep on our Bike ‘n Beer tour and had time to order a second round, I would have ordered something else. The fact of the matter is that there are just so many beers to choose from that you are bound to find one you’ll fall in love with. We didn’t order food but many were eating. One woman ordered a salad with chicken and it was a large portion. Salads as a main in the UK are not as common as they are in the US, so it was nice to see someone eating a proper-sized salad. I like variety and sometimes pubs just don’t have that much variety when it comes to food. +Super duper awesome beer selection +Dogs are welcome in the pub +Toilets are new and clean +Ample bike parking close to the pub –A few tables on the sidewalk/pavement that are not in the sunlight, so not great for day drinking –Located at a busy junction, so constant traffic driving by, also not so great for day drinking

I was excited to be going here for a Sunday afternoon late lunch and drinks but I left disappointed. Inside there are no complaints it is decorated to a good standard and there is plenty of seating what let’s this place down are the staff and attention to detail. I went to the effort of booking a table via their website for a late lunch for four but on mentioning at the bar I had booked a table the blank looks where not a good start. The table we were given was adequate but more suited to drinking rather than for lunch. The service at the bar and at the table was okay but not amazing and there was a massive gap between our starters and main courses arriving which probably explains the luke warm food. With a bit of improvement on service and a better understanding by the bar staff of the wide range of good beer on offer this place could be very good but on my recent visit all I could help thinking was could do better.

Had Sunday lunch here at the weekend with husband and toddler — £24 for a whole roast chicken and sides, was enough for 4! Decent Yorkshire puds and lots of veg and gravy, very good value. Nice atmosphere, loads of craft beers to choose from and they sold the infamous, what we thought was long gone, Dave’s Chilli Beer! Will be back again soon.

Recently opened in Angel and I had been there once before. Nice crowd — a good mix of various ages. Brilliant selection of ales, lager and a fully stocked bar. Most of the pints are around the £4.50 mark. I had a Camden Hells Lager and a double Gin and Tonic. Good food options and bar snacks. We tried the Chorizo, Basil Bruschetta(£5.50). It was one of the best Chorizo I had in a long time and all ingredients were fresh. My Camden Hells Lager was crisp, clear and very slightly biter finish — the way I like it. My friend had the Arc Angel and he highly recommends it. Nice décor, friendly staff and brilliant location as its mins from Angel tube. Highly recommended.

Discovered this place by chance when walking past and couldn’t resist going inside. Bar tender was very helpful and let us try many different lagers, stouts and ales — even convincing my boyfriend to have a stout which he doesn’t usually like! They brew their own beer which is also a bonus! It’s only been open for two weeks. Definitely worth checking out! Lovely décor too

Another pub in Angel? Can an area have too many pubs? This pub is not bad. Large tables for groups of people to get together. On Sunday they are planning to have live jazz music playing in the background, perfect for a chill afternoon(but maybe not a hangover). They brew their own beer. The day we went I tried their brew of an IPA. They also have other beers on tap named after famous people who had history like Charlie Chaplin and Spandau Ballet. The beer was has a fruity note to it but it is actually quite easy to drink, GOLD!
