It’s a local pub. Food just ok. Very well populated at all times of the day. Looking to have authentic Fish & Chips experience and this fit the bill. Good location.

Don’t know about drinks but STAYAWAYFORBREAKFAST! The full english portions are small and dry and they dare to ask 2,49 for a very small frozen croissant. There is a pizza place a few doors down that does a much better full english for the same price!

this place is a total den of thieves! We had a handbag stolen and they told us we had to call the police ourselves. They COMPLETELY did not care and were not helpful at all. They have warnings up about thieves and I’m sorry we didn’t just hightail it out of there from the start. AVOID at all costs!!!

I like this place, it’s generic but that’s part of it’s charm. The staff is friendly enough, it’s close to everything, free wifi, standard pub food(Pies are nice). You place your order at the bar and they give you a number and bring your food/drink out to you. Service isn’t the best I’ve had but not terrible and after a few visits I’ve found they don’t always have advertised specials. There is a good mix of locals and tourist, it can get a bit noisy but hey it’s a pub. Overall it does the job, and if you like to people watch this is the place to be. It’s located next to a hostel, bags of hotels, shopping and what not. I wouldn’t hesitate to pop back in when I get a chance.

Tried to go here for dinner one night and it was packed. Went back for lunch which was much quieter. Wait staff were fine, food was good. Fish batter was nice and crispy. We’re out of their real ales except for London Gold when I was there. All seemed good until I found a hair in the fish batter. Won’t be back any time soon

Came here from watching the Royal Wedding at Hyde Park and was delighted by the swathes of bunting and the excited atmosphere. The bar staff were all eager to hear what they’d been missing(despite the coverage on the plasma telly next to the bar), and were so chipper we couldn’t help but fall a little bit in love with the place. With London Pride on tap(my new best), and a traditional, quirky interior, this was my favourite pub of the weekend.

I like this place a lot. It looks warm inside and the food selection isn’t so bad. The bartenders were definitely nice and very helpful. The food is typical pub fare so don’t go expecting fancy cuisine but do bring a lot of friends, an appetite, and a thirst for beer and I’m sure you’ll have a great time here.

We stopped by here for a late dinner and some drinks. Nice little pub and it was right by our hotel. Good food, decent prices. I had my first Cider here at The Black Lion and I fell in love!!! Scrumpy Jack Cider; sadly they don’t sell this cider in the States! Argh. Overall, a good place for some quick grub.

Stopped by this place after dinner with some friends to grab a drink or two. Friendly staff and international crowd the night we were there. Not a ton on draught but enough to keep you busy. The place was pretty crowded when we were there, so it seems to have a decent following in the neighborhood. It probably didn’t hurt that it was located right next to a hostel. If all you are looking for is a place to get a drink and maybe have a bite to eat, this place would probably do the job, but it definitely wasn’t anything special to search out.

After a lovely walk through Hyde Park on an October Sunday afternoon, there’s nothing like wrecking it with a stop off at The Black Lion for a bit of Sunday roast. The bartenders were friendly… with each other. However, the one with the purple spiky hair only served up attitude to us. And the roast was quite possibly the worst I’ve ever had. Small portions, meat barely recognizable as such(a grayish slice of Tesco sandwich beef it seemed like) and the chilled gravy made the rubbery puck of Yorkshire pudding seem like it was doing you a favour by just being there. Do not go here. Fine for a pint out in a pinch if you’re dying of thirst, but not worth sitting down at.

One of the best pubs in the neighbourhood. Good ambient and music. Staff is mostly from south america, so they’re really friendly and polite! Food is also great, but definitely not top notch. Going for a couple of beers and a snack is always a blast. Try saturdays, it’s much better!
