I have been to this restaurant twice and neither time has been particularly memorable. The first time it was a quick sandwich and salad for lunch. Nothing amazing, but I do remember thinking their produce didn’t feel as fresh as it should have. The second, I can remember more distinctly. Specially, because as Laura, I experienced a similar situation. I ordered the lamb shank and half way through my starter I was told they had run out. I then opted for the spaghetti with spicy sausage only to be told by the waiter that the sausage wasn’t very good. I was completely put off by his comment, so I ended up ordering a salmon, it was greasy and cold. The service was appalling, we waited for everything way too long, for our order to be taken, for the drinks to come, for the bill, even to be greeted when we first walked in. They say third is a charm but there is no way I am coming back.

Auberge is a French brasserie bar and restaurant — I’m not a huge fan of French cuisine and unfortunately, my experience here hasn’t inspired me to persevere. The service was poor and the somewhat limited menu was almost half sold out! When I ordered my duck starter, it was almost stone cold — not very appetising to say the least. Our drinks seemed to take a considerably long to arrive and for my main course, I ended up with something completely different to what I ordered. The staff were very unapologetic and didn’t offer any form of discount as a way of compensation. I insisted and they became very awkward with me. Not the best dining experience!
