Pineapple

I’ve always thought this greengrocer’s is pretty bluntly named. I mean, it’s not something bright and cheerful like ‘Pineapple Greengrocer’s’ or a similar name, it’s just… Pineapple. And then there’s their decision to pick a pineapple out of all the fruit and veg that they sell. Why not ‘Kumquat’, or ‘Aubergine’? A bit more exotic I must admit, but then again pineapples are hardly falling off the trees that adorn the Crosby streets.
The inevitable name issues aside, Pineapple is a lovely local grocer’s on South Road that offers a very good range of fruit and veg at competitive prices. The fresh produce they sell is so tasty that it easily gives the local supermarkets a run for their money and the shop’s easy to understand layout enables you to find your favourite fruit and veg in a matter of minutes.
The staff there are always friendly and they recognise a familiar face, ensuring that with each trip to Pineapple, you really feel like you are giving something back to the local community and supporting small businesses like these.

Quite possibly my favourite shop on South Road. Pineapple stock a great mix of fruit and veg that is consistently fresh and tasty. The prices are remarkably low and there are always special offers on seasonal fruits. My family by all of our greens here from brocolli to christms trees and are never disappointed.

As a health addict, getting fresh fruit and vegetables at an affordable price is extremely important to me. Not only that, but I expect my produce to be of a very high quality.
This is my one of my favourite greengrocers as it is a.) reasonably priced b.) has friendly staff and c.) is easy to navigate (I can find cherries, tomatoes, celery etc, speedily!)
Not only does Pineapple serve us with fresh fruit and veg, it also provides us with a great flower selection. So not only can I fill my fridge with healthy goodies, I can also prop my mantelpiece with a nice bouquet.

Top of the hill in South Road, right next to the station so it’s handy for communters on their way home. Traditional fruit and veg grocers, sells a good variety of seasonal stuff, although they mainly stick to mainstream fruit, no exotic stuff here! They also have a small section selling sauces, condiments, nuts, and some useful cooking accessories. Alonside the furit and veg they have a rather good florists, it doesnt look up to much, but the quality of the flowers is really good, the prices are reasonable, and they will make up bouquets, baskets wreaths etc, whatver you need, they are very helpful.
