A Liverpool picture is the kind of place where people of the city can visit and really get a grasp of the cities great history. This is a great independent store which oozes class and deals in pictures, prints and post cards which show historical images of Liverpool. Situated in the dock area this place could not have a better home, the location is historical and the produce represents this perfectly. The prices can be high but in this area of Liverpool this comes as standard and what you are getting is a real piece of history which you can treasure for many years to come. The staff here are great and they seem to have a real grasp of what they are doing which fills you with confidence, essentially everybody here has a real passion for their city. This place is a great representation of Liverpool and is definitely worth a trip.

This art gallery on the Albert Dock specializes in prints of old photographs and Liverpool scenes, as opposed to the more general art you’ll find in The Fershwater Gallery. It is a small shop, but I did see a wide variety of art items and a lot of postcards. If you’re into the Royals, they do sell some postcards of them here which seems to be a rarity in Liverpool. I also noticed a few original art items, one was a miniature painting of the Catohlic cathedral in a book-like frame, and the other two were framed miniatures of other Liverpool scenes – these two had hand painted frames as well with flowers on them. Anyway, if you prefer black and white and photographic artwork, you’re probably more likely to find something in this shop than The Freshwater, but I have to say I like the Freshwater better.

Liverpool Pictures is an independent art gallery selling prints of Liverpool, located on the Albert Docks, it’s a great place for tourists and proud locals to pick up pictures as memories of the beautiful scenery in the surrounding Dock area and waterfront. They have great postcards for 60p and really cheap prints of the sunset over the mersey and the Three Graces. They also sell some rather interesting black and white prints of Old Liverpool so you can really see how the city has changed and developed over the years. It’s a good little gallery that captures the essence of the ‘pool in still life.
