Ladbrokes in County Road is one of the biggest, if not the biggest bookies I’ve been to in Liverpool. Considering bookies aren’t often big, this particular branch does offer plenty of space as you witness your horse or greyhound win or lose its race on the one of many TV screens they have on display.
Many of the locals (older generation) come here as a social hub which is always nice to see. After all, just because you’re in a gambling environment doesn’t mean you have to bet. Sue, who usually serves me is friendly indeed and never asks for any form of ID (as I do look younger than my age). Although Ladbrokes odds are often less than other bookmakers, Ladbrokes differs from other competitive bookies as they can provide you with a loyalty card where you gain points for every pound you spend. Then, when you reach a certain number of points, you gain free bets but the margins are always slim and benefits are so small that I would not encourage being a member unless you are hell bent on gambling at Ladbrokes.
