Picture the scene if you will, its a cold saturday, late morning and you’re heading to Goodison for the match. The County Café is one of many cafes along this large stretch of road that will provide good scran in decent portions at cheap prices that will give you the only fit and proper start for a few jars before the game. It’s a pretty traditional Café although they also do Chinese and chips shop meals for lunches and evening meals but I recommend it for the breakfasts and lunch snacks. They are used to busy service times so they are very efficient and as you expect from this end of the world always friendly too.

The County Café along a busy County Road is a fairly noticeable café due to its size and busy nature, as it’s always full of customers. This café sells everything you would expect of a traditional English Café — breakfasts, sandwiches, egg on toast and there is also a chip range so you can enjoy pies, deep fried munchables such as chop suey rolls and ribs etc. There is a small and simple variety of other dishes like Chinese meals and pasta dishes which all come at cheap prices. I usually go here to buy something quick to eat as the service is efficient. A 2-sausage on toast would just cost £1.70 and a child’s meal of chips, beans and nuggets(with a soft drink) only £2. All food can be eaten in(including a waiter service) or taken out. There is really a working class tradtional feel about County Café and you are getting good grub at low prices so there isn’t much you can argue about. The food is simple, tastes fine and not as greasy as you might imagine. Well recommended to bring friends, children and family of all ages.
