Kitchen is a small Indian task away outlet towards the Brookhouse section of Smithdown road. With tasty dishes and strong promotions through the Just-Eat no nonsense fast food website, Kitchen is a recommendable small eatery that delivers as well as offering collection. Just-Eat selects food outlets according to proximity and your postcode, then allows you to process orders online through their system, it then informs the restaurant working as a middle man. Prices are perfectly reasonable and the prospect of heading anywhere else on Smithdown for a curry at short notice is never needed after reaching Kitchen.

Kitchen Indian Takeaway, not a very imaginative name and this laziness seems to have seeped into the food that they serve up. Early on in my time in Liverpool I had a great experience here I ordered a beautiful Lamb Rogan josh and was not let down by what was served up as it was done to perfection. Not long after this things seem to have gone downhill and those high standards have not been achieved since in my eyes. The staff inside seem a bit disinterested to be perfectly honest and I’m not really sure what has changed. There are plenty of places to choose from in the Smithdown area and this place is not really doing anything to break out from the rest of the pack. Maybe it’s just pot luck here and if you place an order you will find it pleasant enough but for me personally there standards have slipped.

As far as Indian takeaways go, this is defnitely the best my tastebuds have ever had the pleasure to eat up! Kitchen has all your usual meals on the menu including Balti, Tandoori Grills and Madras. The food is absolutely delicious for a take out, with nothing tasting of grease as I have unfortunately experienced in the past. My absolute favourite dish is the chicken tikka balti with pilau rice. In terms of the actual shop, I love its layout as it’s all open plan and as implied by the name — you can openly see the kitchen and all the goings on. Everything always looks spotless and I made sure to check if the staff washed their hands — which they did. I suggest phoning to order before a pick up as they do take around 20 – 25 minutes, which is purely because everything is cooked fresh to order. If you do decide to order in-store, they have two sofas, a tv and a variety of mags/newspapers to entertain you. Delivery is also offered. Definitely a 5 star establishment.
