I love living where I live. I’m a ten minute walk from Sefton Park, five minutes from all the fab bars and restaurants on Lark Lane, five minutes from St Michael’s train station, two minutes walk to bus stops for town and Smithdown Rd where my gym resides and MOSTIMPORTANTLY two minutes walk from Home Bargains. Home Bargains is just the best. Even when I go in and can’t find the thing/s I went in for I always come out with something ace instead. It really is what I would call a ‘general store’ and I bloody love it. And bargainous it is indeed — famous branded items from tinned tuna fish to hair dye to baby wipes are so much cheaper than in the larger supermarkets. You really can make great savings here. It can be a bit frustrating when an item that has been in stock for months suddenly isn’t(and this can happen a fair bit) but just go down the next aisle and I bet you anything you’ll spot a nice notebook or a set of Mason Jars with stripey straws or a multipack or electrical tape or a jar or Filippo Berio about a quarter of the price it would be in Tesco that will cheer you up. So I won’t be able to do any laundry this evening as they didn’t have any fabric conditioner but I have just put my herb pots into three rather lovely enamel mugs. And I’ve got a new silicone loaf tin. I don’t even bake. Brilliant.

I would highly recommend you go along for a look if you have a Home Bargains nearby. To check where your local store is or for more information, go to
I tend to visit the store around twice a month, to stock up on lunch box items and cleaning products and to have a look at the special offers that they have. Trolleys and baskets are available, but if you are going for a look and not for anything in particular, I would recommend getting a basket, because if you get a trolley, you will come out with it full! On a normal shop, when I pick up all the lunch box items and cleaning products plus any other little bargains, I will come out with 3 or 4 bags full and spend around £20. When I look at how much less I spend now on my normal shops to Tesco, I am saving quite a bit of money, and picking up other little bits as well. The only downside that I can think of to this shop is that if you don’t pick something up when you see it, it might not be there the next time you go! I can put up with that though as I know I’m getting a bargain.

Home Bargains is pretty much just like it says; full of household bargains. They sell an interesting range of products, from toiletries to food. They sell a lot of the main brands of toiletries a lot cheaper than you can find in other high street shops, so I always go here when I’m looking for toiletries. You can also buy cleaning stuff a lot cheaper than elsewhere, even cheaper than wilkinsons! The stock changes fairly often, which is one of the only disadvantages as if you decide to come back to buy something later you can find that it has already sold out. This happens quite often with their cookware(which is generally a great bargain). The shops are nice and clean and usually quite tidy, which is a nice change for a cheaper shop. As others have said, one drawback is that because everything feels like such a good bargain you end up buying a lot more than you intended. Along with this brach on Aigburth road there are a further 2 Home Bargains in the city centre(on Bold Street and Lord Street).

This place is the best, its liek a cheaper wilkos, has pretty much everything you will need for the house from sprays to air fresheners, also things like guitar stands to Smelly gift sets for your nan. Shop is always pretty well stocked and tidier than other stores ive been into like it. only things that annoys me is even tho they sell cheap drinks like cans of coke for 30p is that if they wer cooler id pay more, just a little annoying when u get the first in town in the summer. All in all always worth a visit and peek because you never know what bargains you will find, or how much you can go inot your overdraft HAHA

Love this store! Absolutely love it. So many great bargains, and the best thing is, they change their stock all the time. So there’s always some new exciting goods to be snapped up. I very rarely come out of Home Bargains empty handed, and you can walk away with 2 bags of stuff and change from a tenner. It’s all good quality stuff as well, most of the goods are brand names at a discount price. The stores these days all seem to have been re-vamped, they are modern, clean and spacious.

Home Bargains is owned by a group called TJ Morris situated in Liverpool. Home Bargain shops are mainly in the north of the country but they are becoming more widespread. The stores I have visited are all layed out basically the same but obviously vary in size. They all look clean and while busy usually look surprisingly uncrowded. I believe this is due to the very wide aisles they all seem to have. There is plenty of room to move even if you have a buggy/pram or are in a wheelchair. The shops are always clean and staff reasonably helpful and friendly. Shelves are usually well stocked and there is always plenty of stuff available. Stock changes on a daily basis though and if you see something that you want get it while you are there as it may not be there tomorrow They stock a wide range of things and all stores carry different stock. They stock things such as toys and games, videos, toiletries, food, kitchen and cookware, decorative items for the home, cleaning products, medicines, clothing, alcohol and seasonal stuff e.g. gardening, christmas stuff etc. A shop carrying that variety of stuff is all very well unless its a load of cheap rubbish — Thats where Home Bargains is different. Yes the stuff is cheap and its also branded. Often at least half the RRP. Having visited other cheap shops in the past and stocked up on food and stuff I have been disappointed to find that it has a very short sell by date but all the stuff in Home Bargains has a date as long as you would expect to find in any other supermarket.

Home and bargains is a fab shop you can et so many bargains here esp toys and stationary, am always in here buying bits. also u can get cheap alcohol to which is great if your having a bbq and have alot of people coming. You can also get come foods like noodles really careful though its easy to just dump loads of cheap stuff in the basket like loo rolls and get the the till and find youve spent 15 on shampoo and bubble bath. still useful and a bargain just make sure u actually need the stuff and not getting it cos it’s cheap.

I can’t fault Home Bargains. The staff here are so good too. You only need to go into the shop with a fiver and you can fill your basket.
