This branch of French Connection is really small and cute with two floors to browse. Downstairs is the men’s section which has a collection of trendy fashion such as denim, shirts and polo tops; most of which are quite popular and common. Their clothes style are actually my taste, as they are often plain with dull colours and casual. Prices are a quite expensive for a store of this calibre and you can expect to pay about £25 for a t-shirt. Having said that, this shop always seems to be busy which I guess is a good sign. By observation, it’s an attractive place for the younger shoppers including students of course. French Connection in Lord Street is an elegant little shop but could be a bit bigger and I’m sure most others will agree.

This French Connection is pretty small and doesn’t have the best array of accessories as well as clothing, but is still a neat store. With lovely wooden décor and rails of pretty dresses, jackets, trousers and tops it’s easy to find something you like. I feel a bit like French Connection should be moved more central to Liverpool One as I don’t understand how it can continue to compete whilst in this area. Especially with the likes of a ginormous Topshop and Zara being much more central to town. Still, I love French Connection. This is just a poor example of one!

Sometimes love is blinding. I walked into French Connection last week and fell hook, line and sinker for the white leather motorcycle jacket hanging in front of me. I tried it on and immediately had visions of jumping on a Harley and driving across California wearing it. I was picturing the flat open road, the desert tumbleweed, the random flaura and fauna and blistering sunshine when I noticed the £350 price-tag. It was only when I left the shop that it struck me that everything else in French Connection was just okay. Top Shop, Urban Outfitters and Zara all have better womenswear this spring and the shop itself feels a little small and run-down compared to the other high street retailers in the area. Like I said, love is blinding.

This tiny branch of French Connection has resisted the pull of Liverpool One(although how long can that last) and remains on the now dying Lord Street. Maybe it should move. The stuff in here is good — now that the brand seems to have turned its back on the idiotic ‘FCUK’ pun shirts — coats, trousers and shirts are all on trend and of a flattering cut. The problem is that it’s all a bit expensive, at around £40 a shirt and significantly more for jeans and trousers. The quality is pretty questionable with a jacket I bought here falling apart after only one dry clean. The price tag could even be justified if they moved to a larger, better laid out shop but at the moment this pokey little place doesn’t feel like it deserves your hard earned/scrounged money.

This store is laid out much like all French Connection stores, which means white tiled floors, and white walls with chic rails and nice wooden hangers and some glass shelves. They have a good selection here, although it is not that big a store. My main issue is not only how paltry the service is and how unwilling the staff are to co-operate and help but also how rude they are about customers. I was verbally abused by a staff member, and when I rang in to speak to their manager, another staff member refused to put me through and then claimed to be in charge so I told him my story, and he said it would be dealt with. Next time I went in, I was threatened and intimidated by the staff member I had complained about who then named her manager and slagged her off. I won’t bother shopping here again; it is safer online!
