! If you’ve got a couple of thousand to spend on your outfit Cricket will be your first port of call. Louboutin, Chloe, Stella McCartney, Cavalli, Alexander Wang, they’re all here to be coveted by many and bagged by one lucky rich girl, Colleen or Curran most likely. Previous reviews granted Cricket few stars, and I think this is due to price and thus inaccessibility of the store to the mass public, but there’s got to be somewhere posh to shop! We wouldn’t have Topshop or even Primark without the designer inspiration!

When you visit Cavern Walks for a little browse or to buy a gift or two, perhaps an item of clothing, then Cricket will probably attract your attention — being one of the high-end fashionable stores popular with local celebrities. As you might have guessed, you’re in for a shock when you look at their prices. Its not a place for typical shoppers but this is probably one of the most expensive shops in Liverpool. It has great appeal for occasions such as the Grand National where WAGS and Wannabes like to splash their cash on garments such as shoes, bags, dresses and hats you name it. Well, near one grand for a bag or a top spec computer at Currys? I know which I would choose. No prizes for guessing.

If you think Ran is an expensive clothes store for men, then you’ll probably have a heart attack here at Cricket. Since the 1990s Cricket has been selling designer menswear to Liverpool’s well heeled scally-about-town and has become a major fashion outlet for any footballer and celebrity in a 20 mile radius of the M62 so much so it’s name has pretty much made the small Cavern Walks centre a centre for boutique fashion attractine names like Vivienne Westwood in recent years. If names like Balenciage, Dior, D-Squared and Armani are your thing then this definately the place for you as the overall Cricket ethos is minimalist, modern menswear — think Danny Dyer but all grown up.

Cricket is one of the designer stores frequented by the local WAGs and wannabes. Dealing in Christian Louboutin shoes, Chloe purses and Roberto Cavalli jewellery, this is one shop that exceeds my price range by the hundreds. The current ‘sale’ items do not drop below £150, for example, the most expensive being £990 for a bag. And that’s the bloody sale! I think I’ll stick to Primarni. Still, it’s always nice to look at the pretty things and dream…

I have been to this shop to browse for curiosity’s sakes. I have also been here to buy a ticket for the fashion show Stella McCartney held at LIPA last year to raise money for charity. I was very much aware of the staff looking me up and down, disapprovingly as I was not immaculate or like the dolls/chavs/WAGS they are so used to hosting. There are some nice items but the majority of them are so akin to what you’d find on Footballers’ Wives(both the actual people and the TV show) that I wouldn’t want them even if I could afford them. A lot of kids go here for the glamour aspect and in the hope of bumping into someone famous; they now even sell bags modelled on their carrier bags which are popular with teenage school girls. I found that if you were not there to drop mega bucks, they were not really interested in you.

wag worldprobably the most famous boutique in the north west. hehe its not that bad, they do have some amazing clothes ect in there and are always nice to you no matter who you are. Everyone loves cricket i know. for me its only for special treats tho as its a tad bit expensive. The shop itself as you would expect is immaculate and very trendy. My favourite section would be the boots. They stock the most unique and amazing boots ever. The ladies in the shop are very knowledgeable and have helped me sooo much Cricket isnt just a shop as you get alot of fashion advicehowever all this advice can sometimes make you feel like you have to buy the stuff as they have spent so much time selling and making you feel good. you have to be strong.

Right in the centre of the tourist district but offering a great shopping experience and numerous eateries of varying quality. Names such as Cricket and Vivienne Westwood lead whilst there is plenty of other choice. So you can pretend to do the tourist bit but really get into retail therapy. Bright and clean with good disabled access.

For the individual who has the deepest pockets! A very expensive shop. However it is qualitly clothing that will last you for a very long time. It stocks most things from coats to shoes but be warned that once in the shop its hard to leave without buying anything!
