Cineworld

We all know I prefer Hitchcock to Harry Potter and Almodovar to All The Good Men.
Every now and then however, I decide to throw caution to the wind and go see one of the latest blockbusters. Sometimes, it’s a fast-​paced action movie with Tom Cruise or Matt Damon, sometimes it’s a girly rom-​com and very occasionally, it’s a Hollywood thriller with a big body count. On these occasions, I usually venture to Cineworld. Not only is it cheaper and quieter than the Odeon but the out-​of-​town location means it’s refreshingly free of noisy teenagers.
The only question is, should my next visit be to see Salt or Inception? And should it be popcorn or M&Ms?!

It’s been many a year since I viewed this picturehouse as the cinemagical wonder the creators originally intended it to be. Now, on one of my few visits, I can’t help but think that the owners have forgotten all about it. It just feels like some technical loophole is keeping the cinema open instead of, you know, customer interest.
Fond memories of my pre-​alcohol days keep it swamped in nostalgia. Bowling trips across the car-​park would trickle into tedium so we’d see a film. Yeah, so the pic ‘n’ mix is dusty, the inside is ever-​so slightly shabby and the staff look about fifteen minutes from suicide but the amount of times I watched a movie in an empty theatre was miraculous. You’d never get that at the new Odeon. They’d rather shoot you than waste money showing one customer a film.

This Cinema is in a great location in a retail park not far from the popular Hollywood bowl and it is this fact which makes this place such a good place to visit. This cinema can be used as part of a full day out followed by a bowling trip and a bite to eat at Frankie and Bennies .
The deals here are great also with a whole months unlimited cinema costing under fourteen pounds and that is value not to be scoffed at especially during the summer holidays when ways to entertain the kids start to run dry.
This cinema is always well run and well kept and is generally a pleasure to visit so there can be no complaints there. In fact I have no complaints about this cinema at all which is a compliment given my picky nature.
On the whole a great place to visit as part of a family day out.

I recently visited Cineworld with a group of my fellow uni students i. e skint friends, I not been before as it’s a ittle awkward to get to without a car and I tend to go to my local cinema which is only 10 minutes walk. Anyway, one of my litle bargain hunters found by one get one free tickets online so it worked out around £2.50 each, but the prices are usually cheap in comparison to say Odeon at Liverpool One and nearby Switch Island and while Liv One cinema is brand new and flashy Switch Island is looking a bit tattered, I don’t think Cineworld’s any worse: it’s old fashioned but it’s clean and comfy, besides its the film your going to see! I have to say, the staff were a little wierd but they only added to the evening.
I went back soon after to see Avatar in 3D (see its high tech too!) and had a great evening. There’s free parking and an adequate shop sellingdrinks and confectionary as well hot snacks.

I wish there were more Cineworld cinemas. For those of you who have been to an Odeon recently you would have seen that pathetic advert with the fat guy pretending to be the Terminator…“One adult”!!! I don’t get annoyed when I see this advert I get furious! That eal Odeon have got on is a shamble… an insult to my intelligence if you will!!! You earn points and need to go to the cinema a heck of a lot to earn enough points for a small popcorn, absolutely ridiculous!!!
Now Cineworld has an offer which blows Odeon out the water, FLAT OUT!!! This offer anyone who lives remotely near a decent Cineworld complex should just take on, you can’t go wrong and is dirt cheap. Their unlimited voucher which costs a mere £162 for a year gains you unlimited cinema visits for a whole year. This is ideal if you live outside London as it excludes London West End cinemas (Shaftesbury Avenue, Fulham Road, Chelsea and Haymarket). If you do live in London you can get the same card for £198.
Right do the math that is under £14 a month if you live outside London… That is ridiculously cheap!!! I spend that on one outing at the Odeon for heaven’s sake!!! So for that reason alone this Cinema chain deserves credit for giving the consumer great value for money!!! Something the Odeon cinemas DONOT!!! UNfortunately the actual quality of this particular cinema isn’t great compared to Liverpool, but who care it’s cheap as chips!!!
I’m a movie buff but bear with me here as I try to paint this picture of how good this offer is. I go to the cinema without fail at least 3 times a month. I spend on average depending on which particular cinema I go to around £7 each time. That is £21 a month which is £252 per year. You are saving nearly £100 a year…

I always imagined every Cineworld to be very similar but this one is quite random. It’s situated at the back of Edge Lane Retail Park — which is pretty rundown — so unless you’re a local you’d have to search to find it.
It’s quite oldy worldy and reminds me more of an old independent cinema, rather than part of a nationwide chain. The Odeon opened up in Liverpool ONE just over a year ago, and I think it has taken a lot of Cineworld’s custom due to it’s flashy set up.
I like this little cinema, it’s simple. plain and usually very quiet. If you want to watch a film in peace, without 30 kids throwing popcorn to the back of your head, I suggest you go here.
The food and the tickets are expensive, the same as all the other Cineworld’s, but you do feel like you’re being slightly ripped off as I think it’s one branch which has been forgotten about.
