Couldn’t agree more with the other two that have reviewed this place, it’s having more of an identity crisis than a Tranny in a church! I’ve got to admit, after being a promoter across a number of venues in Liverpool; I wouldn’t touch this place with a barge pole! Initially I think it was trying to be a music venue, but after a couple of horror stories from other promoters i decided not to touch it! Now this place send s scantily clad girls out to promise £1 shots to people and then tells them there aren’t any, the bouncers look too intimidating for an empty club and I’ve heard no good reports about the place! I hope this place bucks it’s ideas up as it hasn’t became well established and there’re 100 other bars that anyone could choose as an alternative in town. So what makes it so special?!

Representing the fourth or even fifth link in a chain of places I sometimes frequent when everywhere else has closed for the night is Bar Samui. There’s not much to like about this bar, save for the obvious one that it serves booze later than it should. Descending the stairs beneath a Greek restaurant, you’ll find yourself in the rough and ready subterranean pit. The bar and furniture make it feel like somebody’s house that’s just started handing out shots of apple sourz. It just feels too fleeting, as if a police siren would make the regulars flee and the staff start to burn all their paperwork. Best to just save your money and go home.

Bar Samui is a new addition to Hardman Street situated below a greek restaraunt and to be honest its’ struggling to become established. If you view the facebook page you will see that there are good deals such as pound drinks on tuesdays and they do have good resident dj’s who play the right mix of music. However the crowds simply aren’t being drawn in, one reason for this could be the attitude of the staff they are a tad rude and almost seem to busy to serve you even if you are the only person at the bar. The promotional staff are friendly but misleading on Friday nights they promise a free shot with a pound drink, but when you enter you are told shots and pound drinks do not come as one so you end up feeling somewhat cheated. Most of the people inside seem to know each other thus making anyone else feel awkward. Bar Samui has so much potential but it needs to tighten its’ act to draw in the crowds.

Fantastic 1 pound shooters, fanciful decorations and a comfortable atmosphere~ Quite a good place to relax yourself into the floating music and limelight.
