Aviator

The last time I paid any attention to this place, I’m pretty sure it was a bingo hall. It certainly doesn’t look very pub-​ish from the outside, but knowing that one must never judge a pub by its cover I ventured inside the old building to find a rather impressive pub.
Huge and roomy (probably because of the history of the building) there are booths, standard tables and low sofas, which creates a mixed atmosphere, mingling relaxing youngsters and old Yeadon stalwarts together perfectly.
The booze wasn’t as cheap as it might have been, and the selection could have been better — most of the pubs round here have more cask ales than this place. But as I only stayed for one drink, I didn’t mind. The Aviator just had something about it that made it extremely likeable, a feeling I didn’t expect to experience when I entered the old hall. Cool name for a pub too.

The Aviator — In my opinion the best pub Yeadon has to offer!
The building which I am told is the old picture house and after that a bingo hall, so is very spacious inside with different levels. There is plenty of varied seating areas such as booths and comfortable sofas where you can find a quiet corner or if you prefer sit together in a group, and just about anywhere you do choose to sit you have a flatscreen tv in sight which mainly shows sky sports.
The food is great! It is a very simple ‘pub’ menu but the chef/​chefs really know how to make it that little bit special as the presentation is always fantastic and in my experience is always cooked to perfection.
I am a burger connoisseur and as simple a plain burger may seem it is hard to find a pub that know how to actually cook one! Most places will cook it to the point of cremation so what your left with is a dry crispy piece of dead meat in a bread bun which hurts your mouth due to its razor blade like qualities!
At the Aviator what you get is a perfectly cooked and very juicy burger served in a large floured bread roll.
I seriously recommened you add cheese and bacon as I had one just the other night and would now find it difficult to order anything else other than that on my next visit!
The staff are always friendly and welcoming and alaways find time for a chat, the waitress Sue who normally works on a weekday on lunch times and afternoons is great, she is very polite and always finds time to come round and ask you if all is ok with the food etc and genuinely cares which makes a refreshing change nowadays!
The bar is well stocked with a good choice of drinks. I love real ales which unfortunately is the only down side at the Aviator as there is not a great choice, although saying that, I had a pint of theakstons there and it was spot on.
All in all a great place to be, especially for a mean and tasty burger!

I was surprised how much I liked this place! I vaguely remember it as a cinema in my early childhood and then a bingo hall.
It has been open as a bar for quite a while but I’d never popped in until recently (and have since made several visits) It’s got a good atmosphere and a great set up for meeting friends and catching up. Plenty of seating areas of a variety of sizes (there is nothing worse than trying to squeeze 6 people around a tiny table or 2 people sitting on a bench for 6 — this place has the seating just right!)
It seems to have a good menu with eye-​catching special offers and deals running through most of the day.
The only thing I was not so impressed with was the cost of the drinks, which did seem higher than elsewhere but maybe the round wasn’t stuff on promotion. And the red wine was probably better than in the average pub.

This is the best pub in Yeadon, really good selection of beers at a really good price. Good priced food too.
This place has come along way from been a cinema years ago. The food is really well priced and great value.
Good place to watch football on a Sunday.
It is very clean too. Well worth a visit.
