Hilton London Heathrow Airport

They should change the description of the Hilton London Heathrow Airport «Terminal 5.» It not in Terminal 5! The description is false, inaccurate and completely misleading. It is not even near Terminal 5 and, in fact, it cost $ 50 to take a taxi back and forth from Terminal. A shuttle will cost you $ 38 dollars for two.
I have traveled to over 137 countries and have never had to pay for shuttle service to an airport hotel. In this case the shuttle busses were only running every 45 minutes. The description gives the impression that this is an on-​premise airport providing a place to get a few hours sleep while on a layover. I wound up spending more time getting to and from the hotel than sleeping.
I wrote an email to Hilton Customer Service and got a ‘cold coffee” letter in return. No offer to compensate me for the shuttle or taxi fares. Their description claims to have a shuttle service, but doesn’t tell you it is a charged service. This is totally unacceptable. I will not stay there again. What’s more, Hilton is supposed to offer an unconditional guarantee of good service. Nothing was offered In this case. As you can see by other reviews, this is problem with this particular hotel. But, Hilton is a chain and this hotel was the weakest link.
I suggest if you are going though London Heathrow and want to sleep for a couple of hours do not stay at the Hilton London Heathrow Airport «Terminal 5!» Instead, book a room at the Sofitel which actually is located IN Terminal 5. I’ve stayed there before and found it to be a very respectable place catch a few zzzzz’s during long layovers. So much for Hilton HHonors program.

Ok. So far terribly unimpressed. I stood in line for check in. No big deal there. But the check in person made a big deal of telling me because I stood in line she was giving me the wifi access. Really? Wouldn’t I get it anyway?
By the time I reached my room I was e mailed about a 50 pound charge to my card. Huh? I haven’t had time to spend anything. Back I went to stand in line at check in. Turns out when they swipe your card at check in for incidentals they go ahead and charge it ahead of time. I have traveled to many places and have never had this occur before.
Despite the hassle I have to say the room was quite lovely. The airport is close by, a quick ride on the Heathrow Express got me to my flight in the morning. And the bartender was quite sweet. So I would stay again when traveling to London. I just won’t give my credit card to swipe upon check in.

Great and friendly staff, clean rooms and very convenient. I really appreciate the earlier than normal check in for international travelers.
Some of the furniture in rooms are a little beat and show their signs of age and the bar was out of Lagavulin during my stay (the horror).
I will most likely book a room on my next trip to London.

Ich habe bisher meist in den Sheraton Hotels am Flughafen übernachtet, diesmal aber zum erstenmal in dem Hilton.
Als Marketing «Gag» möchte ich die Aussage bezeichnen «direkt am Terminal», man läuft schon seine 15 min, je nachdem wieviel Gepäck man dabei hat, kann das schon eine Tortur sein.
Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, und sehr aufmerksam.
Das Hotel ist Vergleich zu vielen anderen modern, ohne englischen «Mief».
Es gibt ein Spa Bereich, mit kleinem Pool und kleinen Fitnessbreich, wo es zu Stoßzeiten schonmal sehr voll werden kann.
Das Frühstücksbüffet bietet große Auswahl und gute Qualität.
Einziges Manko vielleicht (wie in vielen Hotels) lassen sich die Fenster nicht öffnen.
Aber das Hilton gehört ab sofort zu meiner Top-​Adresse in Heathrow.

This hotel was very clean, modern, and the staff was very nice. The room was pricey due to the last minute walk in (we weren’t supposed to spend the night in London). The close proximity to the airport was helpful though. Continental breakfast (£7, a bit pricey also) was delicious and had good variety. Overall, our last minute stay was well worth it.

Heathrow has to be one of the largest airports in the world. It takes over an hour to ride on a bus around the airport. Since we were leaving on American Airlines from Heathrow to California on an early morning flight, it made sense to stay at the Hilton at Heathrow, Terminal 4 the night before. Being a Hilton Honors member, we received free WIFI which assisted me in catching up with work and flight time tables. The room décor was typical hotel with a large window that overlooked the lobby below and no windows to the outside. Bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was fine. Check in and out was easy and there is a restaurant on the premises. The best part was the convenience to the train going directly to check-​in. I’ve stayed in London and other nearby hotels in the past and found it very stressful and exhausting to get to the airport in time for an international flight. I will definitely stay at this Hilton whenever I’m flying out of Heathrow. Worth the price!

The Chinese restaurant is still wonderful. Some of the rooms have been upgraded. Great place to stay if you are a Hilton member as you will get Free wifi, exec lounge access in the evening with hot hordorves & wine, beers from 6 to 8:30p.
Best Location to all terminals except for terminal 5. Sofitel would be a better stay for term 5.

Great room; wonderful shower, decent bed, and free WiFi and breakfast (Hilton Gold). Decaf coffee in the room (as well as regular). The only disappointment was that we could not get the room cool enough to sleep. Either there is no AC; or it is lame. Pretty hot with a duvet.
The other surprise we found was the shear distance between Terminals. This is at Terminal 4. We found we were leaving from Terminal 2. Glad we left plenty of time. But having said that, we could walk rather than taking the Underground to the airport…

This place charges for everything. Even you are a Hilton Honors member with a high status you still have to pay for the executive lounge and breakfast.
At the lounge there was a high step that made few of us trip over, one person fell over so a major hazard. I did call the manager and he added a more visible strip to that step to avoid hazard in the future.
The restaurants in the hotel are poor and the breakfast had no flavor or quality.
The only reason to stay here is if you have an early flight or you miss your connection, otherwise I am not recommending this place.

Hotel is nice and 3 restaurants to choose from in the lobby. I was flying from terminal 2 and it was a haul to the hotel. With wait time for the train a solid 40 min from customs in t2 to the lobby. I have stayed at others you had to use hoppa and they were the same time if not less. If you are flying from t4 then this hotel would be great. If not no benefit to being attached to the airport.
The room was modern and bathroom was very nice. WiFi was decent speed but only free if you are a hilton honors member which was not a problem and appreciate that.
The bed was quite hard and made spring creaky noises when you moved.
Overall if flying from t4 and price was right I would stay here again. If flying from a different terminal then it would be a price decision.

Thanks to a flight cancelation, we ended up spending an unplanned night in London, so we booked a room at this Hilton for the night.
On the bright side, it’s a nice, new, well-​appointed Hilton. The bed was very comfortable, the shower had excellent water pressure, and the room was very large by UK Hilton standards. WiFi is free to Hilton HHonors members. There are big picture windows, but they oddly are directed at the lobby, not the outside (our room was close enough to the edge to have a view of the entrance, but was still directed at the inside). There were multiple dining options as well as a gym, but we weren’t there long enough to take advantage of them.
Access to the airport is the main reason anybody picks this airport, I assume. It’s about an 8 minute walk to Terminal 4 through a tunnel. From there, you can take a shuttle to the other terminals. However, Heathrow is enormous, so don’t think that airport adjacent is necessarily close to your gate– it took well over 20 minutes for us to get to Terminal 2. There was a shuttle available as well, although it wasn’t free.
This is quite a ways from most of London– a fast and expensive trip on the Heathrow Express or via a cab, or a long ride on the Tube. That said, if what you’re looking for is a comfortable place to stay before a flight, or perhaps somewhere close to the airport to have a meeting, this is a good pick.

.. there are a few things regarding hotel stays which are worth paying more for. Just the convenience of being able to walk to your terminal is one of them. I wont write an epic review for this one, just a few points which I thought were less visited in reviews from my fellow Unilocalers.
This place is my regular, favourite airport hotel, especially for the night before traveling home to LA. It is off Terminal 4, a 7 – 10 minute walk via a walkway (which gets cold in winter btw). Yes, it is very convenient if your flight leaves from or is arriving into T4, however there’s a free train which keeps you connected between T4 and Terminals 1, 3 and 5.
The restaurants downstairs are good, and the HHonors Lounge is well stocked. The rooms are standard, all the features of a modern, newer Hilton in the UK. I have used the fitness center several times, it is at par with the better Hilton locations in the UK.

This place is a must if you are leaving out of terminal 3 in the morning. You don’t have to wait for a taxi or shuttle, just walk down the sidewalk and into the airport. For that luxury, you will pay about $ 300. I am not marking down their over priced ness since I knew the price going in and it was what it was. I am not certain what status got us into the lounge, but they had snacks and adult beverages in the evening, and that is where you go for breakfast. The breakfast looked substantial but I doubt if would have eaten there if it hadn’t been included. The rooms was perfect, clean, quiet, and comfortable. I doubt if we were in the room much more than 6 hours, but that can be a long time in a dump. Very satisfied, would do it again under the same flight circumstances.

Sometimes, all it takes is for a mediocre experience to be trumped by an even worse experience to make the former seem like it was better than remembered. Confused? Let me explain. I’ve had several stays at the Hilton at Terminal 4. That’s this Hilton. Don’t confuse this one with the Terminal 5 Hilton (which several reviews seem to do).
This Hilton is adjacent to Terminal 4 at Heathrow and accessible via a very long, but thankfully covered, walkway. When you exit the elevator bank used by the Heathrow Express, there are glass doors immediately to your right, and that takes you to the hotel. The hotel itself is NOT new. The reviews talking about a ‘new’ hotel are either mistaken about the age of this hotel, or confusing it with the one via Terminal 5. (Although, this hotel did undergo a face lift not too long ago.)
My recent stay was for several days. Most people stay overnight to catch a flight the following day. Not me. I was in it for the long haul due to work in the area. My room rate included breakfast, however, I’m generally too lazy to get up and make myself presentable in the morning before breakfast. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could order room service for breakfast with only the tray charge of roughly 8gbp. Each day I would look forward to what would be forgotten on my tray. Usually nothing too serious. Sometimes it would be the jam for the toast, sometimes the milk for the coffee, once it was even the orange juice. A minor inconvenience, but puzzling, nonetheless. I only ordered dinner via room service a couple of times. Each of those times it was underwhelming. Incredibly bland pizza, average fish and chips, neither anything to get excited over.
I also had access to the Executive Lounge. Located on the main floor, the lounge is small, but provides what you need. Snacks are provided throughout the day, such as crackers, cookie bars, nuts, and whole fruit. The usual coffee/​espresso machine which also serves up a decent hot cocoa (highly recommend the marshmallows as an add!). Non-​alcoholic beverages are available all day (coke, diet coke, sparkling and still water, juice, etc.). Alcohol is available in the evening, I think after 5pm, but don’t quote me on it. I never made it down for breakfast, so I don’t know what they have in the morning. Usually, there was some sort of soup in the afternoon, along with some sort of sweet pastries (puffs, etc.). Evenings during my stay always consisted of the exact same thing: egg rolls, chicken wings, mini pizzas (meaning bite-​size), veggies, and some sort of dip. I want to say that one day there was actually something different, but for the life of me I can’t remember what the heck it was. Suffice it to say, Hilton needs to switch it up a bit in this area. Can I suggest pot stickers or those chicken skewer things? Maybe some lavash rolls? It’s a thought.
I did have two meals with the Zen restaurant. One was a take away and one was dine in. I don’t remember the exact dish I had for take away, which is not surprising as I thought it was ‘meh’. The dine in, however, was fantastic. I had a mix of small bites. Hot & Sour soup which may have been among the best I’ve ever had. It was. hot and sour! I admit, I got a bit of a runny nose while eating it. Delicious. I had the dim sum basket which was 4 dumplings and pretty good, and an order of pot stickers, which were fantastic! I finished off with some sort of chocolate-​mint ice cream thing, which was okay. I should have gone with the frozen orange thing. The only down side to this place is the price. It’s very pricey.
Lastly, let’s talk about the room itself. I was in an Executive Room, so it was a decent size. Comfortable king size bed. Plenty of outlets. A decent work desk. But, best of all, the bathroom. I had a nice walk-​in shower with plenty of water pressure. I absolutely loathe those teeny shower stalls that you can barely turn around in, and I don’t much care for the bath/​shower combo that you need a step stool to get in to. This one was a nice, normal, walk-​in shower. Even though I didn’t care for a window that looked right out at the walkway to/​from the elevator, I’d get this room again just for that shower.
Now, back to that first confusing statement. Had I written this review during or immediately after my stay, I might have called it a 3-​star experience. Instead, I’m writing from the Hilton at Terminal 5. I’m sure I’ll review the whole stay later, suffice it to say that. so far. T5 is the reason T4 got an extra star.

You have to walk down a really long walkway to get to this place. Which is strange, since how can a hotel be that far away from the airport and still be considered part of the airport. And the signs that say you’re only 4 minutes away really aren’t helpful. They just let you know how far you’ve walked.
When we checked in with our 2 big bags, plus the two bags that we were carrying, we were ignored by the staff. The next people that came in with 3 bags were fallen all over to be helped. Also, you had to pay for wifi unless you were in the common areas. I guess it’s all just a ploy to make people sit in the lounge and drink beer.
We thought we would be able to get food from somewhere else, but since you have to walk to middle earth to get to the hotel, we ended up eating at Aromi. Our table was located right above the pool. We knew this because you could hear people swimming in the pool. At least you could not smell the chlorine.
We both ordered beers and some water with our meal. The water was £6. It cost more than the beer. Had we known that water would be that expensive, we would have not ordered some water. We both ordered pizzas, which were surprisingly large. The pizza i ordered had capers on it. And they went a little out of control with the capers. I wanted to enjoy the pizza, but the capers were too overwhelming. The other pizza had parma ham and smoked mozzarella. it was pretty okay.
I mean, what could we have possibly expected from pizza from a Hilton attached to the airport?

This is a new hotel adjacent to Heathrow Terminal 4. There is a covered walkway, you can get help with carts and golfcarts to help move your luggage. If you are not flying out of Terminal 4, this does not help. You have to transfer to a train, ride about 20 minutes to the other terminals and walk a long distance.
That being said, the rooms are nice, upscale. Beds are clean and very comfortable. The staff is friendly and accomodating. Room service has a limited menu after hours, as well as a good menu the rest of the day. We stayed here because we had a long layover. It is also marketed as a meeting location. If it was closer to the other terminals it would easily get 4 stars. Location does matter.

Only stayed here once. I was on the «Honors» floor. The room was clean and modern. Didn’t use the tv. The ice bucket is one of the smallest I have seen– not really adequate for Americans who like cold drinks, and the ice machine seems to be low capacity. No complaints about the toiletries. The staff was polite, but not always brilliant.
The inroom wi-​fi is a rip-​off, but the free lobby wi-​fi was ok. Sneaked into the Executive Lounge– very nice. The buffet in the lobby was good, but pricey.
I would stay here again, if the occasion arises. It’s good enough.

So I’ve stayed here a lot (20 or so times this year) and I’m finally giving up on the place for a few reasons. The price has gone up way to much for what it is, the shuttle from t5 is gone, and the staff has gone down hill. My last stay was so bad. I stayed in a single room on the first floor and there was a broken bottle behind the trundle bed and the room smelled of mold. I also wasn’t able to get my gold member benefits (free water and wifi) because the staff told me it didn’t show on their computer. I showed them my account on the hilton website that showed I was a gold member and they basically so too bad nothing we can do
Anyway I’m just going to be staying in the other hotel in t5 it’s a bit more expensive but it’s much more pleasant. I will rethink my loyalty programs for next year.

Overpriced and tiny old rooms that are sorta not clean (read: still pee on toilet seat). Plus, it’s not really that close to anything but Terminal 4. In order to get to the other terminals, you need to train it in. This entails walking down several extra long corridors amounting to nearly a mile (with no automatic walkways or anything to help those carrying heavy bags).
All in all — inconvenient and expensive. Probably better to stay in London and then commute it in via the bullet train.

Upgraded to the Executive floor on check in but the real Bennie was lounge access. They have lots of Appetizers and the free bar makes for a light meal. Staff is very efficient and helpful in the lounge. As a Gold HHonors member, I was granted access and free wifi, unlike the last trip where the wifi was pay only.
The 5 minute walk through the covered walkway to Delta Check In was a pleasure since I did not have to navigate the maze that is Heathrow.
This time my room overlooked the walkway. not as nice as my previous visits where it gave a view of the interior of the hotel and the huge atrium. Bed was very comfortable and the room spacious fro a London hotel.
Front desk staff on check in and out were excellent.
The Hotel is an easy walk from the Heathrow Train stop. I recommend the Heathrow Connect over the Heathrow Express since it is cheaper and both run to Paddington. the tube is the cheapest but takes much longer than either train.
I usually stay here at the night before departure and have never been disappointed.

Normally I can’t afford high end hotels. However, on arriving back to England at some god foresaken time I wandered over to the Hotel kiosk at the airport for a booking into a Premier or Travelodge. I was offered the Hilton at a ridiculous price that had to be grabbed.
A great hotel with fantastic, but pricey, bars. The room was immaculate, very large and the bed could have held four people.
Breakfast was of the buffet type and there was plenty of choice.
If you can afford it, give it a go.
