Not perfect, but it’ll do in a pinch. Booked a three-night stay in Glasgow via Priceline, it already had a few things going for it. The price was almost alarmingly low, and they offered a cancellation policy up to 24 hours before check-in. I wasn’t expecting much, and I didn’t get much. The place was clean, though a bit run down. Staff was super friendly. The room was small, but I don’t need much room. The bed was comfortable, and the hot water in the shower was mostly always there. Staff gave us hand towels one day instead of bath towels. That was a creative shower experience, but they gladly replaced them for larger towels when asked afterwards. They say they have internet in the rooms. This is mostly true. Closer to the truth is that there is a router in the hallway. Our room was just out of range enough of the router to not have internet in our room. First world problems? Yes. But if you advertise internet in the rooms, make sure it reaches all the rooms. I’m not a fan of checking my mail in the hallway, or researching bus ticket prices in the lobby. Breakfast was wonderful. Served from 7 – 9 each morning, it was just what I needed, and far better than I anticipated a hotel breakfast to be. Hotel is easily accessible via the bus system(once you figure out how it works), and is an easy walk on a nice day from the park, the museum, and the long stretch of bars and music venues on Sauchiehall. There is a possibility that I was double-charged for my stay, but I will wait to reserve judgment until that is resolved — no sense in placing blame on a hotel when it might be Priceline’s fault. And let’s face it, it probably is Priceline’s fault…
