Hillington East Railway Station

For some reason I’ve always felt that Hillington East is inferior to its almost identical brother Hillington West just half a mile or so up the line. I don’t know why this is — maybe as a fellow brought up in the west end of Glasgow, which itself is in the west of Scotland, I’ve always preferred west over east when it comes to anything.
The station is served by a half-​hourly train between Gourock and Glasgow Central, calling at all stations en-​route, though during the morning and evening rush hours they are more frequent, including one or two to/​from Weymss Bay.
The station is un-​staffed and platform access is via a footbridge. The stop is most ideal for the large surrounding residential area of Hillington, while Hillington West is a better bet for the nearby industrial estates.
