I didn’t have a whole lot to do with the SRC when I was a student at Glasgow Uni (aside from visiting the second-​hand bookshop that they run which is great) but several of my friends did make use of them.
One of the services provided by the SRC is an advice centre for all students at the university on a range of issues relating to their time at university. This proved invaluable to a few friends of mine who were having a lot of trouble with their student flat and landlord. After some advice from the SRC everything was promptly sorted out — good stuff.

Glasgow University Student’s Representative Council, more commonly known as the ‘SRC’ is a one of four student bodies at Glasgow Uni (alongside both unions and the Sports Association).
Its main purpose is to represent students and it does this through a system of student representatives, faculty convenors and SRC Sabbatical Officers. In addition, it provides a whole host of services including a free mini bus service from campus to halls of residence, a second hand bookshop, an advice service, and many more.
