This wee shop is the Only one in the Eastend that I can get my fav Markies Minis. Every other place that used to stock the “Minis” has now Stopped. Thank you Wee wumin your my Fav Hunan.

As Chris said in a review of this place earlier you wouldn’t think that beyond such a tackylicious sign would be a great wee pet food and grain/​health food shop.
I walked in one day on the off chance they might sell a wee toy treat for my mental moggy (he is). The lady that runs this shop is very friendly (and a little eccentric, which we like) and helpful and if you’re looking for anything in particular she’s more than happy to give suggestions. I spotted a few goodies for said feline friend and also a few other goodies too ~ near the back, to the left of the shop they also sell health food/​vegetarian/​vegan food things and grains/​pulses of all sorts too. I was most impressed. So i bagged myself some brown lentils too. Woo. ROCK AND ROLL!
I have since discovered they also sell THE BEST catnip mice here ~ a brand called Zebedees ~ my sister bought my cat some for a wee present last year from Norfolk and he LOVED it and went (even more) mental for that catnip stuffed mousey! Thumbs/​paws up to that.
So for the sake of my kitties sanity (and pleasure) I really hope Food & Fodder is around to stay.

On initial viewing of this place many of you (including myself) will think eeeek, not a chance in hell. However i would urge you to bury this thought, take a deep breath and make a leap of faith through the garish front door, careful to squint your eyes to avoid damage from the ‘bleargh’ signage.
Once in you will find a bizarre mix of everything you could ever imagine needing for your pet, plus a few things you wouldn’t ever have imagined, some you wish you hadn’t seen, and others you cant quite believe that someone would have imagined.
Add to this the rather bewildering inclusion of a modest but ‘all bases covered’ health food store to the rear of the store and you have yourself a great, if a little weird (capital W, bold 24 font, underline) wee store that is half the price of any of its city competitors.
After a review like that how can you justify not going in for a visit!

Food & Fodder is a pokey little pet food store that is filled with all things weird and wonderful for all of your pet’s needs. What you might not realise immediately is that this is actually a pretty decent little health food store too, with grains and granola hidden away at the back of the shop.
The kooky little lady that owns the shop is always cheerful and happy to help, willing to offer advice on purchases from squeaky mice to miso soup. Items here are incredibly cheap compared with big name retailers and there are plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans including soya milk and veggie sausage mix. I really like this little local store and would much rather part with my pennies here than fork out for big brand branches.
