Ely Railway Station

One of the worst stations to get stranded in ever!
Despite the very pretty city of Ely itself, the station is situated on a rather bleak patch of ground across several very busy traffic lanes, and the bus services to anywhere else are (in my unfortunate experience) sparse and badly signed.
On finding myself at Ely station I couldn’t make head nor tail of the bus timetable and sat waiting for a bus that didn’t arrive for the best part of an hour. (When I jumped on the first bus that came along in sheer desparation, the driver was as helpful as could be, I should add).
That being said, it probably isn’t the fault of the station itself, per se. Although it’s location feels really ‘out in the sticks’ despite the fact that’s it’s perfectly possibly to walk into town from there.
It just needs better links, and better information outlets. If I’d landed there are night it would not have been fun!
