The White Hart used to be my pub of choice when I lived in Cheadle. They used to have a disco on a Saturday night with regular drink offers and specials to keep things interesting. The bar has recently undergone renovation and is looking much brighter and more airy. They no longer have Strongbow on tap which was a real disappointment to a friend but they now have an excellent beer collection with Brewdog one of the ones I noticed. They now sell more wine but the staff are a little clueless when it comes to what they sell. I asked how much a bottle of prosecco would cost me and they didn’t know. I asked what white wines they sold, the answer? «these ones just look at the labels.» Hmm… Ok. G We didn’t eat on this occasion but the food isn’t the best in the village. For that I’d be tempted to go to Istanbull Grill or The Ashlea.

Has the feel of a pub which would be quite good if you were a regular. I’ve been here 10 or 20 times in the last 6 years, so an infrequent visitor. Today the service was excellent — super friendly in a low key way. Their range of beers seems to have increased sine I last went in, today they had a pale ale(brew dog?), hobgoblin, trooper and another decent ale. What lets it down for me is the TV in every corner showing sport which really isn’t my thing and the atmosphere can be a little flat. It can be busy and livelier on a Saturday night. So not a bad pub, mainly just suffering from that Suberbia effect of not quite having enough customers to generate an atmosphere. Unless of course you know everyone there, because they are your neighbours!
