The Closet

The Closet is a dress agency in the Wellfield Court Arcade that invites you to bring in your pre-​loved designer gear, including clothes, shoes and other accessories, to be sold on your behalf on a 50% commission basis. I love shops like The Closet, because I apply the same mentality as I use when I am manning a stall at an arts market, or even doing a boot fair… No, there’s not a huge amount of similarity with these scenarios I know, The Closet is a lot more up market than a boot fair, but… there is one fundamental thing that they all have in common, as far as I am concerned, and this is, where there is income, there is spending power! Sooooo… you can leave the items you wish to sell, and then go and collect your commission three months later (or the clothes if they haven’t sold). Assuming that The Closet have managed to sell everything on, this means that you can then browse the shop and try on what you fancy… all safe in the knowledge that you have the money to pay for it. Heaven!
