when it comes to fruit and veg pippins have the freshest in the area and the staff work hard to make sure it is rotated daily and fairly priced. they even have cheap bargains. despite the loss of several good shops on the street their is still a community spirit shared between several of the shops.

Pippins is the only specialist independent fruit and veg vendor on Clifton Street, and so it provides a vital service to the local community. As there are a couple of butchers on the street, the existence of Pippins in the area means that it is entirely feasible to buy all the ingredients you need to put a great meal on the table without having to shop at a supermarket. Without Pippins, this would be hard to achieve.
Luckily Pippins doesn’t rest on its laurels, and in reality there is sufficient competition on the street to make their prices pretty keen. Tesco Express are sure to be exerting sufficient pressure on their own, but independent shops like Ozzy’s also carry fresh produce. Nevertheless, no other shop stocks the range of goods that you can buy at Pippins. They pretty much have everything that you could conceivably want, and the quality and freshness of the produce is also good.
