I’d heard the adam and eve had been refurbished so thought we’d have a look and weren’t dissapointed. we had mussells with cider cream to start which tasted so fresh, a lovley starter. to follow i had a sirloin which was cooked perfect med rare and my partner had cod which was looked more like a whale and i was reliably informed it was beautiful. both came with handcut chips which were amazing. We then sat back and listened to the live music. Keep up the good work !!!

Tucked away on a back road in Hotwells, The Adam and Eve is a quaint little pub, exuding much old-fashioned character. With its low ceilings and rustic décor, the venue will appeal to those of you with a love of the traditional pub aesthetic. Housing a selection of local ales and ciders, and a small courtyard for the smokers of the world, The Adam and Eve is a great place to frequent for a couple of quiet drinks of an evening. The staff are friendly too, and the atmosphere tends to be warm and relaxed. I wouldn’t recommend dining here, though. The menu is limited, and I found the food to be insubstantial and pricey. I had a vegetarian risotto which was served on a huge platter, emphasising the stingily sized portion. The emphasis was definitely on style, but the food lacked substance. I got the impression the kitchen was attempting to transcend the limitations of ‘pub grub’, but they’d probably be better off keeping to regular pub food.

This is a fairly good pub/boozer in Hotwells that is a really good shout for a Sunday roast should you be on the look out for one. It has something of an old school rustic quality about it with nice wooden floor boards and authentic oak beams stretching across the ceilings(only assuming they’re oak, might not be). The staff are very friendly and the choice of beers, lagers and ciders is pretty good too. I’ve heard(though there wasn’t anything happening when I was there) that they have quite a few live acts playing in there from time to time. Apparently it can be quite lively on a Friday or Saturday night. I wouldn’t know as I went on a Sunday afternoon.

A cosy pub, but it’s worth the walk up the hill. There’re good beers, and good food. Full meals are available. There’s unassuming décor– it’s quite dark, but it’s the kind of place you could have a really cheerful, bunch-of-friends-together-for-the-whole-evening kind of night. It’s a good place to settle in.

I’m quite surprised this pub is yet to receive a review, since in my opinion its one of the nicest pubs in Hotwells! Situated just up the hill on hope chapel hill, it’s beautifully decorated with lots of creeping plants and is well furnished with rustic floorboards and big wooden beams across the ceiling that give it a very earthy feel. The staff are very friendly and have a great variety of drinks on offer with an ever changing selection of cask ales and some very tasty meals. There is always a musical themed night, very it’s jazz, soul, or reggae, there’s always some good talent and the atmosphere in the pub is always fantastic. One recommendation is to book tables early if you’re going to eat, and expect a bustling evening if you’re heading there on friday or saturday night. Overall, I think this place is well worth a visit and I highly recommend it to anyone fancying a great pint in Hotwells.

I remember this place from when it was quite rough — a smoky drinkers’ pub. But what a transformation! I went with friends who had visited the week before. The owner remembered my friends and remembered what their preferred choice of red wine was. The food choice is very appealing, and it changes regularly. Nicely thought out dishes carried off well. Altogether a very pleasant place to while away an evening, with or without food. A proper pub, but in a nice clean sophisticated way!
