Invitation Diners Card

This is a Bristol-​based restaurant promotion scheme which allows you to get discounted meals at a huge range of eateries here and in Bath. The catch is that you have to pay to join.
The way it works is that you buy a book and card which are filled with discounts at all sorts of restaurants, from the swishest to the smallest. The deals vary greatly; you only get one or two places offering 50% off your final; most are buy one course get one free or 25% off. You are also limited to only getting a discount from each participating establishment twice (though there are easily over 100 to choose from) and the card is valid for about a year.
It costs £30 to join, so it’s a simple equation really. If you eat out regularly and want to try some new places then this could prove a bargain. If you don’t go out too much, however, it may take you some time to recoup your investment.
