I went to this place three times now. First time we had a good experience brilliant atmosphere inside for a friday night, met some strangers too and just had a really good chat and good time. The second time was a Friday night where I tried to get in, I come straight from work, I was dressed appropriately to go in. I was in a red and white top and security turned around saying«no where’s wallys tonight» and accused me of having too much to drink. Strange how I had enough time to get drunk if i come straight from work when I didn’t even have one drink. His attitude was appalling. I complained to the manager about this they said they investigated it and it come back saying he didn’t let me in because I had too much to drink… and denied the conversation of insulting me. My friends come out the club and confronted the security guard and he just got arsey and said if they carried on they would kick them out, so we all ended up leaving and going to Reflex. I have heard of stories which they refused people in with disabilities who appear to look drunk because of their body language. The manager didn’t deal with the complaint and didn’t want to know. I came another time on Thursday evening but that was just a quick drink and such and was alight then. But following that night, I’m avoiding this place. Think their door staff need to do some customer service skills, Yes I can understand some people who come to the door are drunk and can act like idiots. But I wasn’t. Picked on the wrong person, they just seem like a bunch of bullies abusing their authority.

I visited here recently for my hen party. It does exactly what it says on its proverbial tin, provides a great place to have a boogie to cheesy songs of yesteryear. Massive thanks to a very tolerant DJ who played near enough every request I made, and there were a lot! Drinks are relatively reasonable considering its Broad Street location and it stays open long into the early hours so lots of time to party the night away. Not my usual choice of hangout but I definitely recommend for a big party or group.

I have been going to popworld since last year and I have to admit I love it every single time! It’s a 90’s/cheesy pop music themed club so if that music isn’t for you this isn’t going to be your cup of tea. This club used to be flares(70’s themed club) but sometime last year it got converted to popworld. Yes it has it’s downsides like the dance floor can be very crowded at peak times during the night and the loos are pretty small but there minor issues when your having a laugh and partying away. It’s def a place where you leave your ego at the door and just bust a move to 5ive and backstreet boys haha. The drinks are around the same price bracket as reflex so knocking around the cheap/average price range. All the décor is funky colours and cheesy pics from the 90’s and the music always gets people on the dance floor, all the way round the dance floor there’s tv screens showing the videos of the music being played which is pretty cool. A good little tip when you go there always go to the upstairs bar when upstairs is open because most people just head to the main bar so it leaves upstairs pretty empty and you get served much much quicker! So if you don’t mind cheesy music and maybe getting alittle sweaty from dancing like a mad person then you will enjoy this place!
