Always had a great night out in Gatecrasher and I rarely hear of anyone having a bad one. Very reasonable drink prices, very friendly staff and not to mention the music is excellent for every genres and occasion.

At 27, I was the oldest person there one Friday night. I like that this club has different rooms and the a good amount of space. I was served quickly at the bar and drink prices weren’t too bad but of course still slightly pricer than you would get a pub. Only criticism that seeing as they had 3 floors I think the music could have been more varied and alternative in the other two floors.

Gatecrasher is one of the busiest and most sought out venues for the majority of young people, youth groups and young adults on a night out. Birmingham’s Gatecrasher is situated at the end of busy Broad Street and entices customers and passers-by through the numerous rooms they provide that play various music genres. From indie, rock to hip-hop and RnB, catering to all types of tastes in music. It’s safe to say that Gatecrasher supplies the masses and is definitely the reason it is so popular. If you are considering making Gatecrasher you choice of nightlife destination, expect it to be extremely busy during both Friday and Saturday nights. There is ten pound entry fee which comes across quite steep as a student of low finances therefore they provide discounts for students furthermore promoting this venue and nightlife chain to be Birmingham’s greatest hotspots. I would highly recommend young people from ages 18 to 26 to journey up to Gatecrasher to dance your nights away.

With its 4 rooms rocking almost anything from Indie/Alternative to House and Dubstep, Gatecrasher Birmingham is quite simply the place to be if you’re a local club-lover. Every Friday on the calendar sees Supersonic Vague take Broad Street by storm with its strobe lighting; giant LED displays and reasonably priced drinks. This labyrinthine club-land is very popular amongst students and never fails to deliver an intoxicating atmosphere — in more ways than one. The regular DJ rotation ensures that music is endlessly varied in each room and the nightclub’s abundance of bars keep drink-queuing down to an absolute minimum from 10pm right until 3:30am the next morning. There is only one disappointing dent in Gatecrasher’s solid rep: If you’re a smoker, you’ll need a map and hiking boots to find your way to the cramped smoker’s terrace. Besides that, Birmingham’s biggest nightclub leaves very little to be desired of a Friday evening’s partying. «Let’s get Supersonic Vague!?» Yes please.

Having experience this club from back when it was the Works the gatecrasher brand really turned things around and have improved what was an otherwise dying superclub. Gatecrasher is open about ¾ days of the week, student nights during the week usually. Anway if you are going to go, then go when there is a big dj — the best time I ever went was when David Guetta was djing years ago and the atmosphere was amazing. On a normal weekend they will have local djs, the best room is the main room with some smaller, alternative rooms, including a sweaty RnB room. The crowd is good when a big djs performs as the cover charge is high so only die hard fans go but on a normal weekend you get the local chav crowd. Yes you know who you are with your shirts buttoned up to the top button, wearing boat shoes even though you would never own a boat in your life, chavs tend to p*ss me off just by being there. The service from what I have experienced is quick although being a super club dont expect a massive range of drinks or cocktails. The only bad things to say about the club is the security which can from the moment you que up make your life difficult. The other would be the mens toilets, a guy constantly singing stupid rhymes but never actually keeping the toilet clean as he should be. So to sum it up, i would only go Gatecrasher IF there was a super big house dj playing, although this is a rare thing now that it has been open for a few years.

This club is massive. Do not lose your friends because you will never find them again. There are multiple rooms, but luckily a lot of sitting areas. There are some pubs nearby so you can pre-drink there before heading in. Monday nights are really good for students and discounted.

Woo hoo! I finally made it to one of the most famous electronic music venues in the world!!! I went to the hardcore and hardstyle party called Bounce 2 This. It was a smaller party, definitely the venue had a long way to go before it would even be considered as ‘packed’. I can assume that not many people would want to hear the genre hardcore and it was also New Years Day and too many people are too partied out for the famously celebrated New Years Eve. The venue is gigantic! It has four large rooms. The venue is beautiful with many bars to satisfy your thirst. Great laser and sound system. Although at one point in the night around 2 a.m. the hardcore room started smelling really bad, not sure why that is? Maybe a problem with the ventilation, but it won’t stop me from going to Gatecrasher again. The drinks are on the high dollar side, I suggest pre-gaming before arrival. A small can of beer cost me £4. A Jäger bomb cost me £9. Ouch! Someone wasn’t getting drunk!!! The talent is nothing short of amazing, I don’t think Gatecrasher is stupid enough to book crappie DJs. I’m excited for my next Gatecrasher experience! One of the better electronic music venues I’ve visited in Birmingham.

Don’t get me wrong great night out but me and some friends had a bit of a bad experience trying to get in once. Unfortunately if you go at the wrong time and your male and there aren’t enough women in the club you aint getting in. Girls when the club is near capacity you better not be dressed respectably or else you aint getting in either. Shame the door staff are chauvinists

I’ve only ever been here on the Friday night, known as ‘Supersonic Vague’(still don’t know what«let’s get Supersonic Vague» is supposed to mean, but oh well). As a venue it’s got a lot going for it, with a half dozen rooms spread across multiple floors. There are numerous bars located throughout, meaning that you won’t usually have to wait long to get served. Considering it’s one of Birmingham’s biggest and most popular clubs, the drinks prices are actually pretty reasonable. The décor varies from room to room, in places ultra-hip and in others a kind of retro, vintage style. Supersonic Vague itself is a funky little mashup of all different kinds of music, ranging from dubstep to indie, house, hip-hop and electro. There’s something to suit every taste on offer here. The crowd has always been very well behaved whenever I’ve been, without any of the puking, fighting or bad attitude I’ve come to expect from a night marketing itself towards students. This is well worth a visit if you’re looking for somewhere safe, fun and varied that isn’t lost up its own backside, and won’t cost the earth to attend.

if you’re asian DONOT rely on this place letting you in. the last few times i’ve been here with my asian mates, they’ve been denied with NO reason. they let my white friends in who were just behind us but told me and my other mate we were not coming in. this has happened too many times for it just to be bad luck. seriously ruined our nite, we plan ahead to get everyone together and go here but are just met with rudeness. then when we try to go back in later to try again, we are told its couples only? they’ve every excuse. seriously, just avoid this place full stop till they acknowledge they are being discriminitive and make changes.

Always enjoy a night out here. I’ve mostly been to the Propoganda night on a friday which is always really busy and the music is good. Saturdays and Mondays are also busy in here. The toilets can get quite disgusting by the end of the night as there is no attendant.

Expensive after having to queue for so long. I think people are going because of so much hype and once it’s over it has not been the best night and people wouldnt have minded not going. This however is my experience and of most of those I know so feel free to see what other people have to say about it.

Freshers week, so been going out loads. I thought I’d be sensible on Thursday and stay inbut then started playing drinking games, got drunk and headed to gatecrasher. The people I went with had booked tickets online so all we had to do was flash a print out saying it was a ticket for 10 people and we were let right in, no queing or anything! I had an amazing night. There were loads of different rooms so if your not feeling the music or the vibe just have a wander and find something you will enjoy! They were handing out free glowsticks and UV body paint so the whole place had a fun atmosphere. The layout is well thought about with loads of little different seating areas & places to chill out(alsothey have ‘kissing booths’, didnt really float my boat but still different and memorable!) To smoke you have to go up the stairs. Its not just a set of stairs though, its an actual mission to the very top of a very high building. The views from the top are nice, you can see all over Birmingham and it looks brilliant all lit up! The drinks were amazingly cheap. I was expecting it to cost a bomb but the vodka & coke’s were £1.50, £2.50 for doubles. I really did have an amazing night. I will be back again, maybe on a Friday next time for the indie night :)

I had a great time here last night! It was the launch of one of the many different genre nights they have here. Wednesdays are ‘Kitsch’ which is basically Las Vegas, Indie, RnB, pop and dance music. So the music variety gives something for everyone. Once inside the place it really was like the crystal maze! We got lost inside a few times its so huge! There a variety of rooms/bars — at least 5, and these are all very big, bold and air conditioned which is brilliant and something other clubs lack. The drinks were very reasonably priced, and the staff seemed friendly enough to me. Although last night was a launch night/freshers and so obviously busy, I can see this place being jam packed every Friday and Saturday, so go before 10. Its basically a great place and quite possibly soon to become the best club on Broad St.
