Visited with friends for the first time since Lloyds has been redone. It feels the same as before same crowd the drinks were priced the same. We all had the chicken which was quite dry but can’t complain for the price. Although the service was very good and quick. A standard place to go and eat with friends, reasonably priced for what you get.

The prices in Lloyd Bar really reasonable, as it weatherspoons. It also turns into club with mainstream music

On a night out in Birmingham, I’m finding it harder to find an elegant bar that doesn’t attract revellers who never know their limit. That’s why Lloyds Bar is usually my choice to start the night because security is pretty good at surveying the good punters from the trouble-causers! The bar is spacious with a dining area that merges into a dance floor. People tend to dance anywhere, so it’s a relaxed environment. The drinks are reasonably priced with pitchers at around a tenner! The music ranges from current pop to old skool but every time I’ve been, it’s been enough to get the place rocking. It’s a popular choice for hen parties, stags and birthdays so expect large groups of party-goers! It can get very busy towards the end of the night, so there is the option to move upstairs. If you try to enter closer to midnight then expect to queue.

I would highly recommend starting off any night that will lead into a pub, bar or club crawl along Birmingham’s Broad street at Lloyds Bar as the venue is extremely spacious and the drinks are beautifully priced! Ranging from just under five pounds for a double and mixer and fewer than three pounds for a pint of any draught. On the bottom floor they have a small dance floor in which doesn’t get too crowded but if it so happens to, customers and myself will happily dance around it and the chances of falling or slipping over in heels are slim to none as the flooring around the dance floor is carpeted, what a plus! The music is also very good to jam, dance and chill to, so I would approvingly commend going to Broad Street’s Lloyds Bar for either pre-drinking or just to simply spend the night with a group of friends.

know the saying«you get what you pay for» but quite honestly the £6.95 I paid for Sunday Roast with a drink was about £4 more than it should have been! This bar is your typical Wetherspoons, soulless and unwelcoming. The food is, as usual ordered at the bar where the bar man ignored me to serve the attractive woman that had entered just after me and told me he wouldn’t be a minute. Five minutes later he remembered I was waiting and decided he would finally serve me. There is a Sunday deal of roast dinner and a drink for £6.95 and a tweet earlier in the day as I was traveling down to Birmingham had whetted my appetite for a wholesome roast beef, yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and gorgeous thick gravy. Unfortunately what I actually received was reheated, over-cooked, dry and tasteless. My only recommendation for this place is don’t go!

Very bad customer service. Took a very long time to get served. Food was well below pub standard. Turkey dinner was actually the processed meat you would put in a sandwich. Asked Gina and Barry(upstairs) if I could get a drink, I’ve been waiting 20min. Barry replies no you haven’t and walks off! I understand if you’re short staffed, but this was a joke. Bar was mostly empty, hate to think what it would be like if they were busy. On the theres no upside. If you want to fill a hole and don’t mind taking a long time to get served, then go for it. Good luck.

I used to swear by this place, and called in most nights on the way home from work(travelling ‘through’ the City from one end to the other). The attraction to me was that it is(still) opposite a major telephone network operator’s premises so the staff there tend to pour out at predictable times to ‘have a quick drink on the way home’ and, as a ‘people watcher’, I thrived on the developing moods and opinions of the participants(Yes! You can begin to follow people’s lives and their anxieties if you’re sad enough to want to!) so, the mood of the people and conversations can become somewhat predictable. But enough of the clientele — let’s talk about the bar. It’s crap! When I fisrst went in there it was fantastic and the staff were brilliant however, over tiime(we’re talking the last four years or so BTW), the emphasis seems to be leaning more towards profit rather than customer satisfaction — the food is bland and the service is poor. But my really, really biggest disappointment is the ‘attitude’ nowadays; three or four times I’ve turned up on a Saturday or Sunday with my Daughter and Grand-Children in tow, to be greeted by over-loud commentaries on Sky-Sports — I can go twelve doors down and listen to that rubbish — I just want to sit down and enjoy a meal with my family with some peace and quiet! — which is why I’m currently spending £200 a Month at the Figure of 8. instead of with my favourite ‘Bar’ that seems to have forgotten who its’ customers are! Tell me something will change. soon…please! Trik

Due to Wetherspoons changing policies this is more like a trendy pub than a bar during the day. People from offices come for lunch, although not as many as there used to be and music starts at midday. Even at night the lack of comfortable sofas that used to be here is very much noticable but the party scene is very much still there and it still attracts. The ground floor is huge with seating and a reasonable dance floor, the bar is quite big with quick service. Its equiped with Sky and sport is shown on some(not all) of the screen so its not invaded by sports fans. The upstairs floor is slightly smaller with its own bar and theres a great view onto Broad Street. Upstairs seems to have a more intimate atmosphere but really it isn’t any quieter.

Located on broad street in birmingham, this is a nice bar from which to start your night out. It’s the kind of place you would like to meet your friends before heading off to a bigger nightclub on broadstreet. Its normally very busy during peak hours but its lovely. Highly recommended.

Many a bar has come and gone on Birmingham’s Broad Street, but Lloyds has remained in its prominent position for around 6 or 7 years now. There has to be a reason for that… This kind of place attracts all age ranges, people who want to drink, eat, chat, party and dance the night away. Ok, so its not the hippest bar in town, but that doesn’t seem to affect its popularity. Its certainly a major player and to compete against the likes of ‘The Living Room’ and succeed, this is no mean feat… Go check out the charms of Lloyds Bar… Even if its not your favourite bar you’re likely to have a fun night anyway.
