120 Bus Service: Birmingham-Dudley via Oldbury

I’m not a huge fan of the 120 bus service anymore to be honest. It’s probably one of the most annoying, and unpleasant bus services in Birmingham. It never always used to be like this but it’s getting worse each time.
It always seems to be packed out with huge numbers of young kids or lots of parents with push chairs and screaming babies. To be fair, I prefer the screaming babies more than the young teenagers who play their music loud on the bus.
This service is for those wanting to travel from Birmingham city centre to Oldbury. It goes past Broad Street, Hagley Road and then passes through Bearwood where all the major shops are. It also goes past Dudley as well, so it’s a good service for those wanting to access those parts of the city. You can catch the 120 from Corporation street, outside New Look ans Mothercare.
Also be warned that there can be lots of traffic on Broad Street and Hagley road, so you could spend about an hour on the bus if you are unlucky.

What is it about buses and kids playing music on their phones? And why is it always happening on the 120? I personally find it one of the most annoying things in the world, which is why I catch the 120 as little as possible. If I need to go to Oldbury, I walk. If I need to go to Birmingham, the train’s quicker, cleaner, cheaper and quieter. If I need to go to Dudley, I’ve got no choice but it’s thankfully rare that I have to.
The 120 route runs from Birmingham up Broad Street and the Hagley Road to Bearwood, then through Langley and Oldbury, passing through Oakham, Tividale and finally Dudley. It’s a fair old jaunt, and not the most pleasant despite the new buses which are currently being introduced on the route. Mostly, it’s made uncomfortable by the surfeit of annoying chavs playing their tinny crap out of their phones with no consideration for anyone else. I’m thinking of getting the noisiest, most atonal avant-​garde jazz available on my phone so I can do battle with them when they start. Which would be yet another reason to avoid getting this bus if you can help it.
