We were out exploring on St John and stumbled across Vie’s. The menu is very limited, rice and beans, rice and beans with meatsauce or a hotdog. The rice and beans are homemade and very good. There is also a selection of homemade tarts and beers. I would definetly recommend paying the $ 2.50 to use the beach across the street; great snorkeling and there was a bar in the water that I would highly recommend visiting. Take the trip and spend the day you wont regret it.

Superb garlic(fried) chicken, johnnycakes, and rice & beans. This is a fun place for lunch on the remote East End. It’s about a 4 mile trek by car heading northeast from Coral Bay. The drive is hilly with beautiful vistas of Tortola in the distance. Because the Caribbean comfort food dishes are made to order, it can be quite a wait especially if you arrive at 1pm as our family did. But it’s worth the wait! You can also order a cold beer or soft drink as you wait. My two sons(9, 7 yrs) enjoyed watching the iguana in the distance and rooster nearby. All seating is outdoors and informal, so eating at Vie’s Snack Shack feels like a picnic. We did not explore the private beach for $ 2.50 per person, but it looked inviting and clean. Be sure to bring plenty of cash as credit cards are not accepted!

After reading and hearing all of the people raving about this place I just had to come here. In addition I was definitely in need of some Caribbean style cuisine while being on the island. I was so excited to come here that I even did a «dry run» on a day that I knew this place was closed. Everything here is cooked upon ordering and made fresh. With that said there is a little bit of a wait while your food is being prepared but who doesn’t mind waiting for a fresh meal? We ordered some conch fritters and the infamous garlic chicken. Unbelievable and so tasty. The first bite that I took into the food immediately reaffirmed to me why everyone felt the way that they did about it. If you are on the island, get in your jeep and make your way over here.
