War schon oft im Takano und gehe immer wieder gerne hin! Gemütliches, angenehmes Ambiente. Die japanische Küche ist authentisch und sehr lecker! Übers Sushi kann ich nichts sagen. Meine Favoriten sind Tempura Udon, Ramen, Yakisoba. Den Koch hatte ich vor zwei Jahren einmal gesprochen. Er war freundlich und lustig. Die Bedienung ist nett und aufmerksam. Zudem ist das Lokal sehr zentral und vom Hauptbahnhof gut zu Fuss zu erreichen. Ich freue mich auf meinen nächsten Besuch im Takano City!

Compared to other japanese restaurants and sushi in Zurich, I’m giving Takano City 5 stars because it is the best I’ve had here, and certainly much better than a lot of more expensive (less good) sushi places like Bimi in Seefeld. I lived in Japan for 18 months and Hawaii for 3.5 years, so obviously it is hard to find that quality sushi in Zurich, but Takano city does an excellent job. Their fish is great quality, and their other Japanese dishes are very authentic. Friendly service, and they are speedy at making sushi for take-​away. Highly recommend.

Quiet, casual japanese cantina. The chef, Takano-​san, does an excellent job at recreating an authentic sushi experience. Thankfully, he refrains from over-​boarding with creativity (think cottage cheese makis or aubergine nigiri), unlike other sushi-​places in Zurich. Service is fast and friendly.

Forgettable fish, and the least accurate order taking I’ve ever seen at a sushi place.
The fish was fine — mostly reasonably tasty except for the mackerel; a good mushroom maki, and solid inari. The rice was fine but a little gummi.
The rainbow roll (usually a California with more fish on top) had only one filling in the center — avocado. Very weird. Took two separate requests before we got any ginger.
However, it was the futomaki that really took the cake. We expected a giant, fat roll with tamago (egg), a variety of veggies, some fish, maybe some avocado. We got a normal-​sized maki roll with avocado and salmon.
The fish isn’t bad, but a little more attention to detail would be nice.

— kleines, eher nüchtern eingerichtetes Restaurant (aber das ist bei japanischen Restaurants meist der FAll)
— sehr freundlicher Service

— große Auswahl an Sushi, aber auch anderen Gerichten
— bspw. Platte Makisushi Mori mit verschiedenen Sushirollen: 38CHF
— Sushi war allerdings relativ warm und locker gerollt
— guter grüner Tee
FAZIT: Ganz nettes Restaurant, allerdings war mir für den Preis das Sushi zu warm!

If you like casual restaurants in Japan, this is your choice in Zurich. Looks, feels and tastes authentic … And it has the fake food in the window, just perfect. The Sushi is nice and the regular dishes like Are delicious. Nothing too elaborate, but just good. The service is nice and helpful.

Einfaches aber gemütliches japanisches Restaurant. Es hat Gerichte, die man hier in Zürich sonst selten findet.
Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Man fühlt sich schnell als Stammgast.
Sushi ist gut, aber nicht so perfekt wie bei Samurai I/​II.
Auf jede Fall empfehlenswert!

You know why this place is good? Because they have the fake Japanese food in the window display. ^.^
Actually, the food did taste pretty authentic. My buddy and I had the donburi meals, complete with a side of tempura and miso soup. The only caveat to a similar meal back home is that I paired it with a glass of prosecco, but my dining partner did go the traditional route with hot green tea.
The restaurant was pretty quiet to the point where I felt I had to whisper when talking, but it could have been because we were early to dinner and the place wasn’t filled with customers yet.
Once again, good food, but at Zürich prices.

Sushi à discretion gefällig? Dann ist das Takano City an der Löwenstrasse genau das perfekte Lokal. Die Holztische sowie die schöné Holzbar wo man auch den «Herrn bei der Arbeit» sieht gibt dem ganzen Charme und Persönlichkeit. Die hellen Wände bringen Licht und Freundlichkeit in die Räume. Hier gibt es lecker Fisch zu fairen Preisen in einem hellen, netten und gepflegten Lokal. Was mich oft schon «beeindruckt» hat ist, dass hier viele Asiaten essen. Das zeigt für mich immer, dass es nicht zu eingeschweizert ist und wir uns so ein einigermassen gutes Bild machen können, ob die Speisen denn auch wirklich landestypisch sind.
Egal ob Sushi allgemein, gebratener Lachs, Pouletspiessli, Sashimi Starter oder Fleisch — es ist wirklich alles super lecker und frisch.
Auch als Caterer für Apéros oder Festivitäten ist das Takano City zu empfehlen!

Das japanische Restaurant Takano liegt leider etwas weiter entfernt vom Zürich HB, aber lässt sich mit Google Map o.ä. superleicht lokalisieren und dank dem gut vernetzten öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln auch einfach zu finden.
Als ich das erste Mal dort zu Besuch war, wurde ich von einer reizenden Japanerin im Kimono begrüsst und war dementsprechend sehr überrascht!
Selbstverständlich wird der Service der berühmten japanischen Gastfreundschaft gerecht und lässt keine Wünsche offen.
Die Küche überzeugt auch mit zahlreichen Angeboten und diversen Köstlichkeiten zu vernünftigen Preisen.
Die Gerichte werden sehr dekorativ auf künstlerischen Tellern serviert und man spürt einen Hauch asiatischer Verspieltheit und Kreativität.
Wer mehr über die genauen Speisekarten erfahren möchte, darf sich sogar über eine ordentlich strukturierte und modern programmierte Website freuen. Die Speisen wurden alle anständig illustriert und erleichtern eine einfache Vorstellung, was man im Takano erwarten darf.
In Punkto Preis:
Hungrige Gäste sollten meines Erachtens ca. CHF40.- pro Person einplanen. Mittags gibt es sicherlich günstige Alternativen.
