Forget insipid Fondue Chinois… get the real deal Chinese Hot Pot at Lam Asia Restaurant.
For just 35 CHF/​person, we were treated to a platter of shaved meat (like typical Swiss fondue Chinois) and a platter of fish, calamari, giant prawns, two types of mushrooms, two (or three?) types of cabbage, at least three forms of tofu, and two types of cooking broth (plain and spicy). Did I mention that it was more food than we could eat?
Just meters away from the Oerlikon bahnhof, Lam’s atmosphere is super casual, but the serving staff attentively kept our broth topped off and refreshed our teapot with hot water for no charge.
Reservations for Hot Pot are a must (notify the restaurant you’re booking for hot pot when you call).

Good Chinese food with a good service! They are open till late (10pm) and open on Sundays too! When cravingnfor soup, this could be a good place to sit or to go!

der hot pot sucht seinesgleichen, grossartig!
die karte bietet vieles, neben typischem auch vieles, das nicht ⁰⁸⁄₁₅ ist und/​oder eher erfahrenere asienreisende anspricht — hühnerfüsse, schweinebauch, pansen, wasserspinat usw.
aber keine angst, wer damit nichts anfangen kann, bekommt auch süss saures, knusprige ente, chop sui usw.
eine versteckte karte mit kantonesischen spezialitäten sollte nicht unerwähnt bleiben, wer auf fischsuppe steht — unbedingt probieren und beim bestellen daran denken, dass sie riesig ist!
das restaurant ist optisch sicher nicht der knaller, dafür aber sehr «echt» und das personal ist sehr freundlich und man fühlt sich (auch mit kindern) schnell zuhause.
unter chinesen ist das asia lam sehr beliebt und das ist immer ein gutes zeichen — wir kommen noch viele male!
