Walked here right after checking in to our guest house at the recommendation of the manager. Server welcomed us openly and answered all menu question. The white sangria was delicious! The tropical fruit juices and rum gave it a unique flavor. My husband ordered Pina Colada that was never coming to the table. Finally, the server brought it and told us she had to run to the store to get the coconut milk. It was worth the wait, especially since it was not a premix. I tried the trifongo with chicken. It was unbelievable. My mouth is actually watering thinking about it. The fried chicken, roasted chicken, and chicken soup were also all done very well. We will be back here the next time we are in town.

I ordered the daily special. There was nothing special about the chicken but the arroz Verde was unique and tasty. My friend ordered the fried chicken and it was to die for quite possibly the best fried chicken I’ve ever had.

We went for a late lunch and were the only people there. The service was beyond rude. She came to take our drink and food order and she didn’t come back until we had to ask for the check… She was standing behind the bar laughing with the guys back there but was super snobby when helping us and getting our check, and she also charged my friend for mixing her meal and she charged me extra for a side that was supposed to be included in the meal I got. I had the fried chicken with mofongo and the chicken was super dry and the mofongo was mediocre at best. My friend got the chicken stuffed mofongo and hers was pretty good. Also the prices aren’t reasonable as stated in a few reviews. I wouldn’t consider $ 13 for dried out chicken-that I could only eat 1⁄3 of and had to throw the rest away– a good deal. You’d be better off going down the street to the blue burger. The service is good there and you get what you pay for! Also no hidden charges!

Stop reading this review and just go. This place is excellent and serves the most beautifully prepared and flavored chicken I have ever cooked or eaten in my life. Their stuffed trifongo(mofongo made with yellow plantain, green plantain, and yucca) is also amazing and highly recommended. During a week long vacation, I ate at a number of excellent restaurants in San Juan, but this one blew me away, and it very affordable to boot.

First of all I would just like to say I do consider myself somewhat of fried chicken aficionado and this place ticks all the boxes for excellence. Good temperature, beautiful crunch/texture, great serving size. I am Filipino so when I hear the term«chicharonnes» I expect fried perfection, and this is it.

Food gets 4 stars: Their chicken is juicy and delicious and the yucca very tasty. Service was horrifically slow but it’s certainly worth stopping by if you’re not in a rush.

What a great place! After a long day in the sun, my friend and I came to Inca Chicken on the recommendation of our hotel concierge. We started with a chorizo empanada type dish that was delicious. A nice crispy flaky crust and fresh ingredients. I had the chicken mofungos. It’s a nice dish made with mashed green plantains Ina garlic sauce, stuffed with shredded chicken. It was absolutely delicious and the portion was large enough for left overs. My friend had the ½ fried chicken and some salad and was equally pleased. Wait staff was attentive and helpful. We would certainly return. Great choice.

The rating is for service. We were made to wait for more than half hour before being told that there was no food. Can’t comment about the food as we were not served any. Very disappointed. Wanted to check it out based on all the rave reviews. Make sure you have an alternative in mind if you plan to eat here.

One of the best meals we had in Puerto Rico. I could drink a cup of their green sauce. On the day of our arrival in PR we had some issues getting checked into our condo. While a couple people worked on settling the drama. I was dispatched to find food for the group. Inca chicken was nearby and I’d scoped it on Unilocal,so I gave it a try. The chicken was the platonic ideal of a roast chicken, well seasoned, crisp skin, juicy meat. The rice was cooked properly, fluffy. I thought the beans were a little bland, but only in comparison to the chicken. The tostones were done well. The real star was the green sauce we got with the chicken; bright, tangy, spicy, creamy, goodness. A piece of chicken thigh with a bit of crispy skin, a little rice and a dollop of sauce– one of the best single bites of my life. The staff at the counter were very helpful. Their English was nearly as bad as my Spanish, but I communicated that I needed food for 11. Pollo, arroz, frijoles, tostones. The guy helping me(who had the most English) conferred with another guy(manager or owner I think) and worked out what they thought I needed. I just smiled and nodded«tres pollo, sure» We ended up with enough food for probably 20 people, but the prices were not bad and we ate on the leftovers all week. There are a few parking spots, but it’s San Juan, the parking sucks, walk if you can.

The only reason this place gets a 4⁄4.5 is because the delicious chicken was like warm not hot. Otherwise this place gets 5 stars easy . The chicken was fantastic(other than it being warm) very very moist and tasty. Great seasonings . The tostones were big and crispy and great . The rice was perfect . The yuca with onions was 5 stars ! The sangria was awesome ! Great overall meal. Oh one more thing this place needs to be 5 stars is aji Amarillo sauce !! What Peruvian chicken place doesn’t have that ???

This restaurant is noted for its chicken, though its average at best. I found the actual chicken to be a bit dry, pretty good flavor, but not that different than a rotisserie chicken that you can get from any grocer. However, the chicken noodle soup was very tasty. The other appetizers that I had here were just okay as well.

My boyfriend and I went to Inca Chicken because it was within walking distance of where we were staying and I’m so glad we decided to eat here out of all the surrounding restaurants! We came here on the second day of our trip to Puerto Rico and it was the FIRST good meal we had. At this point, we had given up on finding food that wasn’t dry and bland, but finally we came across Inca. The waitress was really friendly and helpful. We asked a lot of questions since it was our first time ordering mofongo and she recommended we get the triple mix. We also got the chicken, skirt steak, the green rice, and sangrias. I would HIGHLY recommend trying the two dishes in the pictures I’ve uploaded. I didn’t get to try the rotisserie chicken, but I’m sure it’s bomb. So in all: –Comfortable, fitting atmosphere −5÷5 stars on all the food –Friendly staff

Good Mofongo but thats about it! Service is not all too friendly, acoustic and ambience are simply terrible and your drinks come in plastic cups most of the time.

Came here for dinner with my husband. Their chicken is scrumptious and juicy! Paired with their arroz verde, it kicks it up a notch. Their house green sauce is also good. We had to come here a second time. My husband ordered the chicken soup and the pastelillos de pollo(chicken empanadas). Service is great and very quick. This spot is down the strip of Isla Verde not too far from our hotel. I’ll definitely come back and eat here again.

I should preface this review by qualifying that my friend and I arrives here super hungry — just about any good would’ve tasted great by the time we sat down to order. We each ordered half a roasted chicken along with the green rice and mashed plantains and a deep-fried plantain. The 1st half of the chicken satisfied our hunger but it was so delicious that we easily downed the 2nd half and the sides. The mound of mashes plantain did not look appetizing but was a great addition to the tender and juicy chicken. The green, spicy avocado sauce was also key to kicking up the flavors of everything we had. The price came to about $ 15 each including soft drinks before tip. It’s definitely worth a return trip.

Food was amazing! Fresh and flavorful taste of Puerto Rican cuisine. I had the rotisserie chicken, mashed yuca, green rice and and fried tostones. Service was excellent and there was a equal mix of locals and tourist eating at this hidden gem!

Roasting chickens is their specialty. Go for the rotisserie, the chicharrones de pollo and arroz verde. We ended up coming here twice since it was about two blocks from where we were staying. The second time, we got takeout before heading to the airport. We needed chicharrones one last time before heading back home. Our first visit we got a sampler platter. We wanted to sample as much as we could without breaking the bank so Willy and I shared this for lunch, adding on a side of arroz verde(small is perfect to share between two people) and tostones. Sampler Platter comes with chicharrones de pollo, corn fritters, sausage, and chicken turnovers. They brought out three sauces — mayo/ketchup(best for tostones), cilantro jalapeño sauce, and another one with cheese(? I think that’s what the guy said… it tasted like Big Mac sauce). The spicy jalapeño one was my top pick and best with the corn fritters and the chicken turnovers(to add a bit of flavor and heat). Chicharrones are kick ass — crispy on the outside, tender inside. Salty and fried. Yes, yes, yes. Sausage — my fave part of the sampler. They had a touch of heat like chorizo and served with a oily saucy broth with parsley and caramelized onions. Sides: The tostones were a little bland. Needed some salt and it helped dipping them in the mayo/ketchup dip always served with them. I’d opt for the sweet plantain if you were hoping for something. Caramelized with rum. Arroz verde — the best thing to order! It’s a must try. Cilantro flavor at the forefront and well-seasoned. Cooked with chicken so that brings in good, hearty flavors. Drinks: It was vacation after all so we started our day with sangria. They have red and white — we tried both. Neither are too sweet, but I preferred the red sangria served in a wine glass over ice. Atmosphere: The place is more modern. I worried a little bit when I saw the cartoon chicken on the front of the menu(this place was Willy’s choice). But they brought it home with friendly service and quality food. Best for lunch, rather than a night out.
