Carli’s Fine Bistro and Piano is a magical place where an excellent and delicious dining experience is complemented by some of the finest jazz musical experience that can be found in Puerto Rico. An amazing bohemian experience in a bistro setting located in the historical Banco Popular building in Old San Juan.
History
Established in 1998.
In December 27, 1998, X — Beach Boys keyboardist (1969 –1981) Carli Muñoz, created along with his partner James Bonbright lll, Carli’s fine bistro & piano located at the heart of historic Old San Juan Puerto Rico. It is a place where locals and international patrons gather to enjoy a unique live musical and fine dining experience in a relaxed atmosphere.
Elegantly nested at the plaza level of the historic art deco Banco Popular building, Carli’s warm and artistic vibe will charm you while you savor exotic assortments of gourmet tapas and exquisite international entrees, or sip on your favorite martini from our classic bar on our main room or under the stars with a view of the San Juan bay from our open terrace.
Today, Carli’s (formerly Carli Café Concierto) not only continues to grow, but has excelled in the art of fine dining and live jazz entertainment, without sacrificing the comfort of casual elegance and moderate pricing.

Business Owner
Pianist Carli Munoz has collaborated with some of the major figures in the jazz and rock history. His impressive resume includes concerts and/or recordings with a wide variety of jazz giants, such as Charles Lloyd, Chico Hamilton, Les McCann, Wayne Henderson and George Benson. And under his leadership: Putter Smith, Paul Chambers, Lenny White, Chris Potter, Eddie Gomez, Jack DeJohnette, Don Byron, David Sanchez, Lucille Dixon and Jeremy Steig.
Carli’s substantial contribution to rock includes concert and/or recordings and collaboration with Wilson Pickett, The Association, Jimmy Haskell, Jan and Dean, Peter Cetera, Blondie Chaplin, Evie Sands, Henry Gross and eleven years with The Beach Boys. Carli’s fourth solo album Maverick marks his pinnacle in the mainstream jazz arena with an all star cast including ledgendary bassist Eddie Gomez and drummer Jack DeJohnnette. Featured as guest soloists were Don Byron and David Sanchez, both Grammy Award recipients for 2005.
