From the outside, Nihon looks like a hole in the wall type of Asian eatery. What awaits inside is a superb sushi restaurant that offers some of the most inventive rolls offered in Puerto Rico and many of the states I’ve lived in and visited. At Nihon, they blend Japanese cuisine with Puerto Rican and tropical ingredients. Be prepared to find sweet plantains or a Don Q rum glaze on your sushi and marvel at what a natural combination they make. Their sushi pizza with crab meat is delicious, as well as the kani salad and crab rangoon appetizers. This is a small, humble restaurant(soon opening a larger, second establishment) and the service is really fast, attentive and friendly. The prices are a bit steep, however. Expect to pay $ 16 – 20 for 8 pieces of any of their specialty sushi rolls. If those are prices you are comfortable with, you’ll leave quite impressed.

Delicious well made sushi. A bit pricey, but totally worth it. The miso soup is a good started and the rainbow sushi is divine and pretty.

One of the best sushi places I have gone in Puerto Rico. Creative sushi, excellent service and nice atmosphere.
