The Erin Go Bragh Boat Charter was one of the best things I’ve ever done on vacation, and no one should leave Puerto Rico without taking this excursion! Even if you’re a non swimmer, or you don’t snorkel, the boat ride itself is such a spectacular experience. We were a group of 6, three couples, aboard the Erin Go Bragh II on a beautiful 84 degree January day. To avoid overcrowding on the boat and make sure everyone is comfortable, they take a 6 group maximum(so our friends were the only group aboard that day alongside the Captain and Ingrid). We arrived to Puerto Del Rey Marina in Fajardo a few minutes prior to our scheduled time to set sail on the 50 foot sailboat after a few minutes of safety instructions from Ingrid. The boat charter takes you to neighboring Puerto Rican islands from 10am — 5pm with all food and drinks provided. They also have dinner/evening boat charters in addition to overnight charters that travel to neighboring USVI or Culebras. Ingrid seems very flexible to customize your boat charter accordingly. She’s very accommodating and provides excellent customer service. We requested to go to the island of Vieques, since a couple of us had never been there and we had already been to Palomino island(another island usually on the boat charter stop) on a previous trip. Since Vieques was the furthest of all the islands, it was our only stop for the day, and it was SO worth it! We had free flowing rum punch, medalla beer(local PR beer), water, sodas, juices, etc at our convenience whenever we wanted them. We also had a mango/salsa dip with chips and crackers to start, then at lunch we had a feast of BBQ chicken, salad with avocado/tomatoes, and rice. It was AWESOME! For dessert, we had an assortment of pineapples, banana bread, and little bananas. Our group never felt hungry or short of food or drinks at any given time on the boat. When we arrived to Vieques, we set anchor with the island in sight and most people in our group snorkeled. A few from our party even snorkeled to shore and got to step foot on the island for a bit before snorkeling back. Ingrid and Reuben were awesome hosts. We felt welcomed and taken care of at all times. When we got back to shore, Reuben even made us espressos on his family houseboat! How’s that for Puerto Rican hospitality! I strongly recommend this to EVERYONE who visits Puerto Rico. Make it a point to save a day to go aboard the Erin Go Bragh with Ingrid and Reuben!
