Tryp Oriente

On September 11^th (13^th day in Portugal), upon arrival in Lisbon, they tried to put us in a smoking room on the 2^nd floor when nonsmoking was reserved. We asked to move rooms and they put us in a dirty room on the 7^th floor with 2 twin beds when we requested a king. When we complained, they would not accommodate us and were flat out rude. The General Manager was unaware that we spoke Portuguese and told the receptionist to «screw them» when we requested a refund for the 3 nights. Not only was the hotel dirty, it has not been updated since the 1990s. We got fully charged for 3 nights, they charged us for parking and internet when we left after being moved to dirty rooms for nearly 2 hours. Don’t let the pictures fool you! For the price, poor management, and lack of customer service, stay on the water in a beautiful hotel with impeccable service at Myriad by Santa Hotels.

Very nice big room with big double bed and a bunk for the kids. Indoor pool and spa area and very nice breakfast. Lisbon Portela airport within 5 – 10 min walking distance and shuttle running

Me gusto mucho este hotel! Las camas son comodisimas! Carta de almohadas, bañera, buen desayuno… lo malo que queda lejos del centro, ideal para viaje de negocios!

This is a solid 4. Their star marker at the hotel’s exterior indicates 4 but, for travel snobs and high-​end tour books, it’s not considered a 4. Trust me. It’s a 4.
I’ve stayed here 3 or 4 times. It belongs to the Tryp or Melia chain of Spain, and can also be accessed under Wyndham, which is kind of cool for members and point earners.
I had had enough of small uncomfortable hotels in Lisbon’s center. This hotel came to my attention with Expo 98, in which a blighted industrial zone east of the center, yet close to the airport, was very quickly turned into Parque das Nacoes, a business edge city, and the site of Calatrava’s excellent intermodal Oriente station. Therefore, it sits on a Metro line, at Oriente, and in 15 to 20 minutes, with one train change, you are right in the heart of Lisbon. Also, from the airport, which is so close, bus #44, sitting right under the Oriente overpasses, will have you back and forth in about 5 to 10 minutes or, per checking, the Metro has very recently (obviously after July 2012) been extended into the airport ! Lastly, if you are using CP (Comboios de Portugal) to go anywhere in Portugal by train, including the overnight train to Madrid, the Oriente station is only a block from this hotel. So, while there may not be a Baixa or a Bairro Alto nightlife scene, there are places for food and drink at the Expo 98 site, some of which are good, but most of all you have a very nice hotel in the Tryp Oriente.
The hotel is modern in a simplistic way, clean, and comfortable. The lobby is spacious and well appointed. The elevators are quick and the elevator lobbies and corridors are quiet and carpeted. Of the rooms I’ve gotten, I’ve liked the ones with the river view with nice neutral colors … and only once got one with a city (Oriente station and tracks) view, weird proportions, and one weird mustard colored wall I wasn’t crazy about.
The service is very good. There is one lady who works at the front desk I really like because she’s calm, professional, and speaks English, Spanish, and, of course, Portuguese effortlessly. There was a guy who worked there who was funny and enthusiastic, but he’s not there anymore. The rates can vary, so it’s best to check and recheck. Sometimes, one can get a good B&B rate, but the extra cost buffet is fairly priced. This is THE best breakfast buffet I’ve ever had in Lisbon. It has everything, including eggs, hot meat items, cold cuts, cheeses, pastries, breads, fruit, juices, coffee, tea, and then some. And the breakfast room is spacious and airy, too.
When I’m sleeping, the Baixa or the Bairro Alto location does nothing for me, so this is a place in Lisbon I like a lot, though it’s a metro ride away from the center. And if you don’t get a Lisboa Card for transport, then that’s YOUR problem!

Antes de viver em Lisboa fiquei várias vezes neste hotel. Há uns bons anos atrás era de 3 estrelas, e depois mais tarde passou a ser de 4 estrelas, embora o preço seja mais baixo que a generalidade dos 4 estrelas que se situam perto.
A localização é excelente para quem vem de comboio ou de metro, porque pode-​se ir até ao hotel a pé em apenas alguns minutos. Além dos transportes á volta há tudo o que se possa precisar, quer no Centro Comercial Vasco da Gama, a poucos minutos a pé, quer nas várias lojas, restaurantes e cafés em redor. O hotel é confortável e limpo, sendo uma óptima opção na área.

Já fiquei neste Hotel várias vezes com o meu pai, ele gosta especialmente deste Hotel em Lisboa porque é numa zona calma e perto de tudo ao mesmo tempo, este Hotel está relacionado a muitos eventos e não é dos Hotéis mais caros. Óptimo para uma curta ou longa estadia. O atendimento é muito bom e se temos algum problema são muito rápidos a resolver, eu tive o azar de ter um problema com o cartão magnético que abre a porta e rapidamente substituíram o cartão para um novo. Depois gostei muito da parte dos pequenos-​almoços está tudo ao nosso dispor para nos servirmos e se quisermos alguma coisa especial podemos pedir. Além disso a sala de pequenos-​almoços tem um ambiente muito descontraído e calmo. É um Hotel ideal para se estar enquanto se conhece Lisboa.

Gutes Hotel in super Lage. Das Hotel befindet sich direkt bei ehemaligen Expo-​Gelände, ein paar Meter zum Hauptbahnhof, Busbahnhof und zur U-​Bahn. Der Flughafen ist mit dem Bus oder Taxi in fünf bis zehn Minuten zu erreichen (dennoch kein Fluglärm). Ideal also für den Durchreisenden und den Lissabon-​Besucher. Bereits um die Ecke liegt das Aquarium und das sehr gut gestaltete Expo-​Gelände mit vielen kleinen Bars. Angrenzend auch ein Rieseneinkaufszentrum, in welchem man alles bekommt, was das Herz begehrt. Und in die Innenstadt und den weiteren Stadtteilen ist durch die gute Anbindung auch ideal.
Bisher hatte ich immer Zimmer mit Blick zur Flußseite. Die Aussicht ist immer wieder klasse. Und das aus Zimmern, welche sehr großzügig geschnitten sind, über schöné große Betten und recht große Badezimmer verfügen.
Das Frühstücksbüffet ist für ein Hotel in Südeuropa fantastisch. Die Auswahl wird in vielen Vier-​Sterne-​Hotels in Deutschland nicht geboten. Und alles frisch und bei sehr freundlichem Personal.
Der Preis dürfte jedoch durchaus gut zehn Prozent niedriger sein — dann entspricht es dem was in den meisten Hotels dieser Kategorie bezahlt werden muss.

Riesen EInkaufszentrum über die Strasse und gegenüber direkt an einer der größten Stationen der öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel.
Besser kann man nicht wohnen.
5 min vom Flughafen weg und auch in Richtung Algarve ist man sofort auf der Brücke.
Klasse Haus in bester Lage — immer wieder gerne!

On the negative side, there is nowhere to park and parking is charged at an extortionate rate (from memory it was 15 Euro per day)
