This place was excellent. Service was very helpful and friendly since the menu was entirely in Portuguese. Appetizers were excellent and all of our entrees were top notch. If you want a nice portuguese dining experience, this is the place to go!

Woah, I’m shocked that the other people on Unilocal didn’t have a lovely, incredible time here. Check out the trip advisor reviews for a more balanced, fuller look at Taberna Do Vilarinho: This was honestly the best meal we had in Lisbon, and probably in my entire 3-week trip in Europe. I’m going to remember it for the rest of my life. Our appetizers were unique and delicious — pickled roasted peppers, the most delicious olives ever. Our wine was affordable and perfectly paired. We ordered the Dourada, and it was cooked perfectly with some crispy skin but flakey, moist fish. There were little bits of shredded orange and carmelized onions on top that took it to a whole other level. It was a great fresh fish dish that I want to say only cost 12 euro. For dessert, they had very unique desserts, too. I know they had strawberries and pineapples from the azores, which our host assured us were the best places to acquire these things. They were fresh and flavorful, and probably way more healthy than traditional fatty desserts. Our host was helpful and attentive, and we were welcomed to stay as long as we liked. It had a romantic ambiance and some little tables on the street that felt very atmospheric. Another reviewer mentioned that the street was shabby, which I didn’t feel at all. It’s a 2 minute walk down from a trolley stop near Cathedral Se, and then another 5 minutes down to the waterfront. The street has a few other restaurants and was romantic to me, and still felt very safe. I hope you have as wonderful a time as we had!

This Portugese Restaurant was highly recommend but it wasnt that good at all. First of all it was in a side street not far away of the Cathedral Sé but it was shabby. The Service is very friendly and patient. The Menu was only in Portugese so we needed help in translation. It was very difficult to find something attractive. They only had one kind of beer and only 0,5l of water. For a water-lover as I am I had to order more than one bottle of Water. Antipasti an Main Menu(I had Dorade) were like spanish tapas serverd in small Plates but not the mediterranean way of preparation. Minus: They used a lot of fat, I had the taste of fat all the Time. Plus: Very friendly Service(as all portugese) Relating to the meal the price was very very high!

Great restaurant! Great Portuguese food and well decorated place and very cozy! Typical Portuguese cuisine! Great wine. You’ll love it! I sure did! Has the right size for this kind of restaurant. Approximately 25 persons so it’s not noisy. Great staff!

This place came highly recommended and it was ok but not great. Located on a side street so you would bot find it unless you know about it. Trip advisor gave it great reviews but I was not so impressed. We got there a little early, about 10 minutes before opening, so the host came outside and poured us a glass of port while we waited. The menu was short but had a variety of options including fish, chicken, beef, and duck.
