We went to Stasha for our first dinner in Lisboa, and it was amazing! So happy I looked this one up in advance. When we arrived around 9, it was already nearly full, a mix of locals and travelers. There were two servers and we were seated at one of the only two tables left. The rabble came pre-loaded with meats and bread and olives(though you do pay a few Euro for them at the end. The service was awesome. They do speak English, but took our poor attempts at Portuguese goodnaturedly. We asked the waiter to recommend two fish dishes that were, as we put it, «very Portugese.» His picks were awesome. I had the Cod with Chickpeas and Spinach(pictured, as the presentation was beautiful) which was mild in spice and let the natural flavor of the simple ingredients come through. My husband got the St. Peter’s Cod, which was also amazing, similar in vein to a curry. We had a vino verdhe, which was a perfect pairing that cut a bit of the richness of our food. After dinner, they brought us gratis some port wine that was a great finish to the evening. I believe our entire meal ended up being under 60, which, when you include 4 glasses of wine, is about half what it would have been in the States. Our friends arrive tomorrow night and we’re already planning to bring them back.

A co-worker of mine had been here a few years prior and was dying to revisit the restaurant to see if it was as good as she remembered. I’m so glad we went. The ambiance could use a little work, but the food and service were so good it isn’t even a factor in this review. The entire menu looked appealing and the staff was really helpful in giving me expanded explanations of all of the dishes to help me choose. I ended up going with one of the octopus dishes. This octopus was so tender and delicious. It totally lacked the rubbery quality often times associated with the meat. The presentation of the meal was beautiful, which was just an added bonus. The wonderful preparation of the food totally stood on its own. There were four of us in our party and all of the dishes looked and smelled amazing. Everyone was very satisfied. I hope to revisit this place soon and explore the other wonderful options.
