Pastelaria Versailles

O espaço é bonito, o atendimento foi bastante rápido. Tem muita variedade de bolos e bom aspecto. O problema é que, pelo valor, podiam ser melhores. Comi um palmier recheado, achei muito pequeno e o doce de ovo demasiado açucarado. Fui pela curiosidade, não é sítio onde vá voltar.

Maravilhoso!!! Transporta-​nos para Paris ou para a era de Maria Antonieta e a sua famosa frase de dar-​se bolos ao invés de pão ao povo… Todas as iguarias (doces) muito bem confecionadas, e o espaço vale mesmo a pena visitar… Só falta levarem o vestido grande e a peruca… XD

* Lage: zwar un unmittelbarer Nähe zur Metro, aber direkt an einer vierspurigen Hauptstraße.
* Service: unfreundlich. Haut meiner Schwägerin beim Verschieben des Tisch das Bein ans Knie — ohne jegliche Reaktion.
PS: 2,80 € für einen Orangensaft und 2,90 € für einen absolut faden Cappuccino sind in Portugal frech!

A pastelaria mais bonita e com mais classe de Lisboa. Local de habituées, que conhecem a qualidade dos produtos e serviço.

My first meal in Portugal was here and it was delicious. This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend from Spain, who once got stuck in Lisbon and happened upon this place. I was super excited to try it after my 40 minute walk from the hotel in slightly drizzling weather. I was not disappointed! Everything I ordered was mouth-​watering and I would’ve ordered a box to go if it weren’t raining and I wasn’t going to be out and about all day. I couldn’t tell you the names of the items I ordered, but I will say that I loved everything (seriously everything!) I tried here. Can’t wait to return the next time I’m in Lisbon!!!

We were staying in Saldanha, and wouldn’t you know we HAD to walk by this shop to get to metro every day :)
Truth is besides the McD across the street, a steakhouse and a burger place, I didn’t really see any other food option nearby. We ate at Pastelaria Versailles almost daily during our 4-​day stay in the area. 1^st day we sat outside and had lunch. The «steak with egg in sauce» was fabulous! Their lunch menu is on the pricier end (€ 10+ for alot of the dishes). But their coffee & pastries are very reasonble — hence they’re packed during breakfast time on weekends.
The inside, as already mentioned, is gorgeous. We never really learnt what was the correct order of ordering. There always were people at the counter ordering (to eat at the counter or to-​go). We ordered at the counter, but we would then sit down. Amazingly a waiter would then bring us the right items every time. We ordered at the counter only because we could point. There were so many pastries, and but I always stuck to the old standby, pastel de nata. I even bought some and took them home to my dad (along with the coconut and almond macaroons).
For the most part we got by with English, but it’s very clear that this is a local joint. The food, pastry and coffee are all solid. Definitely stop by if you are in the area.

Loved the ambiance of the place and being able to sit outside. Came here for breakfast and they were accommodating to serve eggs from the lunch menu. The décor inside is traditional and classic European with dim lighting and glass chandeliers on the ceiling.
The bread basket served carried an assortment of freshly baked breads that were delicious to eat just by themselves.
The host was helpful with recommendations and was very friendly. Us speaking English was not an issue at all.
The fresh cheese sandwich on the breakfast menu is a must try. The ham and eggs scrambled was ok.
They also have a bakery with a wide array of options to choose from. We tried the chocolate cake which goes on the have to try list and the custard cakes they served complimentary were excellent too with the custard inside being really light.

This is my favorite pastelaria in Lisbon. I try to make it here every time I am in town.
When you walk in the door, you feel as if you have been transported back into into the 1900’s but in a good way — the décor it without equal and the food and service matches.
Pastries and the usual assortment of finger foods are all excellent.
This place is not as crowded as the usual tourist traps downtown and better in every way.
Definitely a must while in Lisbon and its only a short walk from the Sheraton and Saldanha Metro station.

Andei no Colégio ao lado desta pastelaria, por isso falo com conhecimento de causa. Vinha aqui praticamente todos os dias e, como é um sítio recheado de tão boas memórias, decido recentemente fazer-​lhe uma visita.
A qualidade continua a mesma. Este é um lugar de pessoas que comem com a boca e com os olhos, ainda que haja uma pitada de decadência na atmosfera. O serviço é impecável e confesso que fiquei espantada por ver que alguns dos empregados ainda lá estão, cerca de 15 anos depois.
Há quem diga que o melhor da Versalhes são os bolos, principalmente o «marquês», que é a especialidade da casa. Não discuto, até porque não gosto de bolos com chantilly mas, para mim, lanche na Versailles é uma torrada e uma meia de leite. Ao almoço, os croquetes com esparregado são obrigatórios (até porque são bem capazes de ser os melhores de Lisboa).
Outra coisa que gostei nesta visita à Versailles foi ver que se souberam adaptar a um novo estilo de vida lisboeta e puseram uma esplanada toda catita à porta. Além disso, têm wifi gratuito, mas não acho que seja o sítio ideal para trabalhar. É bom para publicar fotos de croquetes.

Great coffee and pastries for breakfast. Skip the insane lines further downtown at that famous custard tart place and get them here. I had breakfast at the counter here each morning. If I lived here I would probably be here every morning for a quick breakfast.
Other info /​details: Portuguese pastry shop. Has a long counter for quick eating, but table seating is available as well (probably at a higher price /​table fee). They speak a little english, but try some Portuguese, it helps. They also serve simple lunches which seemed popular with the locals. Near the Sheraton Lisbon Hotel, the hotel where the maids steal from your room.

O Versailles é restaurante, pastelaria e salão de chá, com uma decoração bastante requintada, os tectos altos, trabalhados, adoro o balcão corrido e as vitrines com todos os doces e salgados expostos, com tanta coisa fica difícil escolher uma entre tantas coisas boas. Tem algumas mesinhas, para lanchar, tomar um simples café… E depois ao subir dois degraus têm uma zona mais privada onde se servem os jantares. Que foi o meu caso, fui jantar num jantar de aniversário, ideal para levar os pais, ir em jantares de família ou mesmo jantares de negócios, pelo ambiente de muita classe e bom atendimento. Os empregados vestidos a rigor dão um rigor ao espaço que nos envolve. Lembro-​me bem do prato delicioso que pedi e dos pratos muito apetitosos do resto das pessoas que estavam comigo, mas os croquetes foi o que realmente me chamou a atenção e depois de provar fiquei fã. São maiores que os croquetes normais, a massa parece mais fina e o recheio faz crescer água na boca. Dizem que são os melhores croquetes de Lisboa e eu concordo :)

Mais uma pastelaria tradicional de Lisboa, esta é provavelmente a mais fantástica, da fachada num dos quarteirões da avenida da república que melhor mantém a traça original desta avenida aberta no principio do século passado, à decoração fiel ao dos cafés europeus, com espelhos, vidros e madeiras nobres numa explosão art déco. As senhoras de cabelo armado começam a rarear, mas a atmosfera mantém-​se e as filas e filas de bolos bolinhos e boletes convidam a sair de lá com mais cinquenta quilos, mas acabo sempre a comer uma torrada e um galão que nesta «casa de chá de 1ª», nada me lembra melhor de ser miúdo.

Há lugares obrigatórios em Lisboa, a Versailles é um deles.
Tomar um chá, um café… Comer umas torradas, aparadas… Esperar na fila imensa quando é Natal… Encontrar políticos e escritores… Sim, é ali na Versailles.
Admire-​se o edifício, os detalhes do interior, porque na Versailles há uma beleza exuberante.
A Versailles faz parte da história da cidade, donde a imensa responsabilidade de receber de forma exemplar todos os que lá vão. Nessa altura, darei a estrela que falta, porque já sou fã mas quero um pouco mais.
