Amazing little café restaurant in the earth of Alfama, just close to the Saint Antonio church and museum. The inside decoration is contemporary and the owner, a very friendly and funny guy welcome you with advice and a shoot of organic soup.
The quality of the food is really good (a lot is organic). We had the day soup (original and tasty), a two dishes of bacalao recommended by the owner and the chef (delightful) and an amazing orange tart homemade by an owner’s friend (so amazing that I cannot express it with words).
A place to go !
And ps: the owner speaks at least 4 languages: Portuguese, French, English, German and Spanish !

Walked in on a whim and was warmly welcomed with the most delicious shot of vegetable soup I have ever tasted on the house. Please do try the chilled veggie soup with pesto. Blown away!

We were wandering around and felt like a glass of wine. A restaurant down the road recommended we try Café Pit. What a wonderful find! We were greeted warmly upon entering and had a seat. The house white is very nice. I am a Sauvignon blanc/​Sancerre type of white wine drinker and it was perfect for me. The Chef came and brought up a sample of their vegetable soup which was absolutely the most delicious vegetable soup I have ever tasted. We chatted with him for awhile, he told me where the veggies are grown gives them a special flavor. As I was sitting there, plates of food passed me by, they looked so good. I would highly recommend coming to Café Pit. If you are lucky, Chef might even share his soup recipe with you!
I came back today and had the Tapas plate. Delicious!

Como comer en casa de mamá! La decoración, los platos, el servicio, y el sabor te invitan a pensar que estás comiendo en tu propia casa! Un espacio entrañable en el medio de Alfama, buen precio, sin gran variedad, pues en casa de mami tampoco hay menú :)
Tienen menú vegetariano y tapas.
