K&Js hasn’t changed much over the years; it’s still a decent feed for your Friday night Fish and Chips. We used to go for the $ 20 family meal (and I think its still $ 20!) which is great value. The fish has always been fresh, hotdogs well battered; there’s not much to complain about really. They aren’t stingy on the chip scoop sizes; so it’s good for feeding the masses. They do BRILLIANT old school milkshakes, in the big ‘Harold the giraffe’ cup and all. The banana fritter is the bomb and if you’re hungry the burgers are big with all the bits falling out the side like they should be. They’ve got a couple of picnic tables just outside if you’re too ravenous to wait, otherwise it’s a short walk down to the Mahurangi river.
