Specialties
Three main things:
Fresh food — we make nearly all of our food daily, fresh and on-site. We know all our ingredients, so we can look after even the fussiest of tummies.
Great coffee — nothing wakes you up in the morning like a great coffee. All our coffees are double-shot, and we have flavours shots and soy. We’ll make your coffee just as you like it.
Good service — we are a small team, and we pride ourselves on going over and above what’s expected of a top Auckland café. We also love kids :)
History
Established in 2009.
Café was originally started by Vladislav Dimitrov in June 2009 at request of the building owners. They saw the benefit of having a café in the building to attract top tenants. Café was called Sopranos on Dominion.
Two years later he sold out to David Baird who renamed the café to Coffee Cup. In Feb 2011, he sold out to Leslie Guillard and Nathan Dunn (the current owners).
Leslie and Nathan renamed the place Tuihana Café, and worked on establishing a great Kiwi-themed café.

Leslie G.
Manager
In hospitality since she was 16, Leslie has worked in cafes most of her life. She spent seven years working at one of Auckland’s largest food suppliers, so she’s seen how things also work from behind the scenes.
Tuihana Café has been a big challenge, but one Leslie reveals in every day.
