I’ll need to update this review when I get to try the food. But re the coffee, suffice to say I now sit in two extra queues on my way to work, just so I can stop here. Parking available right outside the coffee window, and the baristas are fast. Coffee is the best I’ve had in Auckland in a long time. Enough said.

Sprout is a great casual café in Mt Albert, residing in a old service station. It follows a minimalistic style, with sharing tables and polished concrete floors. You can even drive up and park outside in the previous car spots of the service station, great option if you’re just picking up coffee on the go. The menu follows Vietnamese inspired flavours with banh mi’s, sticky rice and and lemon grass chicken but also caters the classics such as granola and your salmon and cream cheese etc. I really don’t have anything to complain about the salmon and cream cheese on rye. It was delicious and the pickled onion was a great touch for a point of difference. I had a quick bite of the nutty granola — was nice but tbh it’s not normally my thing but no complaints from my cousin and she said the portion size was really decent. The«Orange Juice» was delicious and would highly recommend. One thing that could be improved is the atmosphere. It just has a slight cold feeling to it and could use some warmth, because the food and service was a delight. Waited way too long to check this place out. The coffee is decidedly amazing and the Vietnamese influenced food is not the usual brunch fare but made to perfection and delicious. To top it off the staff are friendly and attentive but not pushy. Oh and great in wet weather, just park under the awning! Can’t recommend enough.
