Personally I think the hype for better burger was a little extreme, the place has nice vibes etc. But the food was average. The bread was quite hard, however the flavour was great. I liked the chips etc. The tables were dirty and crumbs everywhere, but definitely an OK price for the burger. Just a little disappointing due to all the hype recently

I see what they’re trying to do here, buuuut ! I’m sorry burger burger is just a bit more better ! Great service, small wait time and good tasting burger but that’s about it for me . The tall tables were a bit of a climb up for me seating wise and it all felt a bit clichéd. Price wise it’s value for money compared to a Maccas, but even Maccas have upped their game with the build/choose your own burger menu(albeit at a substantial cost) . Would I return? Yeah if I was 7 drinks in and needed to. And that’s all I have to say about which burgers are better.

I’d heard all about Better Burger versus Burger Burger so being that ‘Better Burger’ is only down the road from my work I thought I’d meet my friend there and give it a whirl. I tried the mushroom burger but I have to say I am not sure I am sold on the coating and kind of hoped it would just be mushrooms in their natural state. The rest of the burger was fresh and the fries were ok. The service was quick for a busy lunch and friendly enough on my visit even though I had heard the opposite. I will definitely not write it off as I want to try a beef pattie. I’m yet to try Burger Burger too to weigh them up. I’d say I’m a fence sitter at present.

Better Burger is the New Zealand equivalent of the(indecently-named) In-N-Out Burger, a California staple. To the degree that I think they must be in bed together, for reals(even the sauce is eerily similar). But it’s for this very reason that my siblings and I often head down on the weekend for a meaty treat and a bite of nostalgia. Just like In-N-Out, the menu is stripped right back to basics with the option of a mushroom burger for the Veges. My sister thinks the Better Burger mushroom burger is the best vegetarian burger in Auckland, just fyi. I haven’t tried it myself because I’m a fiend for a cheeseburger. Better Burger’s cheeseburgers are delicious. The menu is reasonably priced and you can chop and change to suit your mood, without feeling like you’re paying unreasonably for OMITTING an item as you do at the big name fast food joints. Last night was my first experience at the Vulcan Lane site, and the décor I feel is lacking from the magic garden experience you get at Britomart. However the food quality between them is very consistent(if not better — the lettuce on my burger? crisp as you could wish). And also, hand cut fries are the business. I will note though, my friend had a strawberry shake last night which was very stingy on the strawberry, and the burgers were somewhat salty on this outing. But this is an aberration in an otherwise pretty spotless track record.

Being sober driver for the evening meant my hunger needed a better class of burger in the hours where these become scarce I had occasion to visit the newest Better Burger on the block(or Vulcan Lane as it may be…) Different Lane, same awesome formula/high standards making the burger love happen! My Double Cheeseburger with Soda and Hand Cut fries(HANDCUT you guys!) set me back a paltry $ 13 and kicked(ticked!) all the right boxes, fresh, fast and open late at night! Also more varied people watching in this neck of the woods! Next branch K’Rd pretty please

I finally tried Better Burger for the first time a few days ago. It has been on my foodie wish list for ages but I just never got the chance to venture to Britomart to try one of their burgers. So, when I heard Better Burger was opening a branch on Vulcan Lane, I was super excited! Plus, it is literally only a 10 second walk from my work — deadly! Better Burger’s concept is simple — serving four delicious and affordable burgers — hamburgers, cheeseburgers, double cheeseburgers(my favourite) and veggie burgers(made with a Portobello mushroom patty), plus fries, milkshakes and sodas. I really like their short menu — it makes it easier to decide on what you want and also the chance to come back and try everything! I ordered a double cheeseburger and a chocolate milkshake($ 12). The milkshake was creamy, delicious and I could have easily drunk another one! The burger was tasty also, however it really did just taste similar to McDonald’s burgers, just a better quality/healthier version. The décor was okay — I think this is where it lets itself down. I have heard that the Britomart store has a nice garden feel to it and you are sitting on ACTUAL chairs. However, at their Vulcan Lane branch, the tables are high and so are the stools — very hard to get onto! Overall, it was a good first experience, with affordable prices, scrummy burgers and delicious milkshakes, but I am not a fan of their seating. Next time I will make sure to opt for takeaway!
