First thing I did was to search for a Swedish place after a little holiday to Sweden. Those guys know about good coffee and food so I was keen on finding something similar here. Just arriving I get the«embassy» on the name. It feels like that as the cinnamon buns lay in the counter and you hear Swedish all around you. And everyone here looks minimal Scandinavian style which is fact on Stockholm’s streets. The place is a really good mix of food and shop. Will be coming back for a snack for sure. And then I’ll write something more meaningful. So far, coffee is good. As it should be.

The pastries and coffee here, are top notch. The ambiance is beautiful too. It can be a bit crowded, but its a lovely spot to slow down and enjoy a delicious cup of coffee. Worth a visit!

Expensive, but truly wonderful. Need to impress a date? Have lunch here. Their flat whites are the best and staff is cute and knowledgeable. Make sure you are seated at the bar since it offers you a great view at the kitchen.

One of the best specialty coffee in town. The menu is interesting and fusionesque :) with nice breakfast options, like salmon with poached eggs, great sweets. Big common tables, nordic simple interior, relaxed athmosphere, unless when is totally crowded. Good service too.

Grabbed a quick coffee to go from here, but I really liked the ambiance. Simple and clean, it seems like the perfect place to set up your laptop and get work done. All the coffees are of very high quality and all the pastries are as well. I tried their special roast of the day(I think it was Kenyan) which was pricey and fancy but easily the best coffee I’d had in my time in Amsterdam. Being a coffee snob, it was totally worth it. My friend and I split something cinnamony and gluten-free and it was surprisingly good. I’m usually skeptical of gluten-free items, but I couldn’t tell at all. Come for 5 minutes or 5 hours — you’re guaranteed a solid cup of coffee and some delicious pastries to boot.

Sat at their counter, menu and coffee choices were explained to us. Our meal was prepared right in front us. Also recommended a pour over coffee that complemented our breakfast. This was my first experience with herring and both herring salads were amazing. My husband enjoyed his salmon and poached eggs.

My friend and I were staying in De Pijp for a few days. We happened upon this place and absolutely loved the ambience, staff, and breakfast. HIGHLY recommend the cinnamon roll/bun with cardamom. Coffee could be a bit stronger, but I think we just have a preference for strong black coffee. We also had the salmon and poached eggs which were fantastic. I would eat here every morning if I didn’t think that was cheating myself out of experiencing other Amsterdam restaurants, but this is seriously a fantastic place.

Loved the entire experience of this place. At first glance, from the outside, it looked like a hair salon. Something about the sign. But anyway… it was great. The cooking area was right at the counter so if you sit at the counter, the action is right in front of you. Everything is made to order(except the pastries, which looked amazing but unfortunately did not par take… next time). The other seating is nice and casual, but limited, so early bird catches the seat. Ordered the eggs/salmon. Presentation was pretty and the ingredients unique. Never had sheep yogurt before. Had the pour over coffee. I prefer a deeper tasting coffee with more depth. The coffee they have is lighter and fruity to the taste. It was nice to people watch here too. The entire street before getting to this place has a bunch of cafes and shops too. On Eerste Van Der Helst Straat.

Have I died and gone back to heaven? It really felt like I did. Let’s start with the décor of the place, it was contemporary and clean with a regular Scandinavian feel, not too fussy no frills it felt more like a home kitchen in Copenhagen or Oslo, love how everyone there was originally from Scandinavia. I admire places that are truly authentic. The restaurant is always packed for breakfast and rightfully so. We decided to go here to celebrate our three year anniversary, we wanted to eat at three different places in one day:) so our first stop was the infamous Scandinavian Embassy. I had heard/read a lot of mixed reviews about the place. But most of the negative ones were to do with the prices, now speaking of the prices I felt it was only fair to charge that amount if everything you’re serving is high quality. Which they most definitely were! So no complaints there… And everything is cooked right in front of you with simple and high quality ingredients, their coffee flies in from Denmark people! I’m sure their other ingredients come from Scandinavian countries as well. THEFOODWASDELICIOUS… had their poached eggs with rye bread and my husband had the same but with salmon… Beautifully plated and their Flat White is to die for! Since we are suckers for dessert we really wanted to try their cinnamon buns but the first batch was already sold out and it was only 10am, the second batch was going to take around 40 minutes to an hour and we couldn’t wait that long so we decided to go for the carrot cake instead. Which was also quite delicious but I still want to go back for the cinnamon buns. Been dreaming about them ever since :) My experience there was quite nice, I enjoyed the food, the customer service was on point. I would recommend this place a 100%.

This place is really something. It looks small on the outside but it’s actually pretty spacious inside. The entire place looks Scandinavian: minimalist, white/wood, clean. I loved it! I only had coffee, which is quite fascinating to watch being done(press). The girls next to me were eating and told me that what they were having was great, sure looked great anyway! One hd a sort of apple/cucumber soup, and the other salmon on toast. Will definitely come back for their pastries

The coffee and the crew = everything is like it was supposed to be. I like the aproach and their opening towards creating a perfect environment for chill out coffee. And the cappuccino. let’s put it like this: I usually order two in a row, that good I think it is. Btw they dont serve it with sugar, part of educating the public how to savour a coffee and her entire pallete of aromas. Bring ur own if u know u’re addicted to sugar. They serve also food, fancy brunchy really good food. During weekends the place is packed so maybe try going there early(10am) or after 2pm. So, I love Scandinavian Embassy

We only came here once but the coffee was so watered down and weak, I would never return. The server was a bit of a dick as well. Not sure why such great reviews. I’ve asked other friends if they liked it and they told me that it’s for people who like really bland coffee. I like my coffee strong, and my baristas friendly, so this is not the place for me.

This easy to get to, quaint shop allows for seating to be unconventional and mixed. The selective items that they have on their menu are carefully chosen using locally sourced ingredients. oh and the coffee, no sugar! Just enjoy! We had eggs with salmon, oatmeal with berriesand the homemade cinnamon buns. Delicious!

Scandinavian Embassy is a place where great coffee meets simple but delicious food. True scandinavian menu with reindeer, fermented herring, strong Danish cheese and rye bread. And the prices are friendly. I tried my old-time favourite: salt cured salmon with poached eggs, which were verrrry good. And the friendly guys behind the counter serve one of the best flat whites in Amsterdam. What more to say? Just go and try yourself! READMOREONTHELINK

The kids behind the counter make visiting this place an absolute joy! They love what they do here, be it simply coffee, a light meal or even something more elaborate! If you can, nab a spot at the counter so you can watch them at work. The last time I was here, I sat drooling whilst they iced a delcious looking carrot cake! For breakfast, you must try the buckwheat porridge. Since the menu changes regularly, you might have to request it. When you do, order it with the lingonberry jam and goats milk yoghurt, because yum yum, a million times yum! For lunch, any of their poached egg set ups, be it cured meats and sausages(duck, moose, reindeer) or salt cured salmon, it’s all amazing! For snacks at the bar(all of the sweets), yes. A thousand times yes. The little special scrolls of delight they create. Oh gahd. You can’t stop at just one. Now coffee. I’ve been known to walk away having had 2 with breakfast. It’s that good. They’ve also become less regimented with their rules of adding sugar(thank god) and for this alone, it’s worth a visit! Lastly dinner? Well that’s still to come. I caught wind they’re planning to do a private dining shell-fish special! Yes please, my friends and I are definitely coming for that!

Nice concept. Okay, the coffee. Incredible. I mean, come on. No bite. Smooth as you can imagine. Perfect flavor. The single brew is amazing. No wonder there’s a trophy in there for world cup brewing. Cool guys. I had granola for breakfast. It was good. Boyfriend had poached egg and salmon — it looked lekker. I will come back. It’s just missing a tiny something. Maybe one warm meal for vegetarians. But overall, cool spot.

I had Scandinavian Embassy on my to do list for some time now and a few weeks ago I finally managed to find the time to pop by. I had heard the talk that there was finally a place that takes coffee seriously, can make great coffee and also deliver some delicious food. The location is a bit out of the way for me(around Sarpathipark) as I am usually either confined to the airport or Amsterdam Zuid for meetings when visiting Amsterdam. The area is however lovely so can understand why they set up shop here. When I entered I was promptly met by a cute little dog, one of the owners(Rikard) has a tiny little dog that will happily stare at you in an attempt to get some food from you. The second thing I noticed was a familiar face behind the counter, Nicolas who used to work at one of my local favorites cafes in Stockholm(Drop Coffee) was now one of the people running this place. I then immediately knew I was good hands when it comes to coffee. Nicolas is one of the top baristas in the world so I fully trusted him to make me some coffee. When I was there they had a wide selection of coffees from some of my favorite Scandinavian roasters like Danish Coffee Collective, Norwegian Tim Wendelboe and Swedish Drop Coffee. I sampled several of the Kenyans and they were awesome! Food wise there was also a clear Scandinavian touch to the menu and a lot of the things sounded great. I tried some of the pastries as well as the food(wild boar sausage as well as poached eggs). In general high quality food, made with carefully sourced and selected ingrendients. The design is also clearly inspired by Scandinavia and for me it looks really great and of course familiar so not sure how the locals like it but for me great. Price wise it may be slightly more expensive than many other cafes but talking value for money this is still a bargain. I will be back as often as I can.

Why have I waited so long to actually go to the place I was the first to know about??? I saw the Scandinavion Embassy coming for months, followed the renovation and saw the guys painting the place. It veryyy close to my house that’s why. And still, when it finally opened there was always an excuse not to go. Now I finally went to have lunch and I’m sooo glad I did. Imagine if I would have waited even longer! The boys here absolutely know their coffee. It is amazing. And the food! Wow, amazing as well. I absolutely loved my Scandinavian style poached eggs. They were like a Swedish version of eggs benedict and instead of Hollandaise sauce there was a sauce made of goat’s yoghurt. It was awesome, and the eggs came of this sort of rye bread, so good! The portion was so perfect for me, maybe a little small for a dude but I would recommend you just have a pastry afterwards then. There is much more I want to try. And the menu also changes quite regularly I saw on the FB page, so always a good reason to come back. The prices are not cheap but not very expensive either, especially not when you taste what you get. Worth every euro. The guys are also very friendly and I recommend that you will let them advise you about the food and the coffee to pair with it. This place is a new favorite of mine for sure!
